Still Undecided?

By Semperpapa

With less that two weeks from the most important presidential election possibly in America history, I still hear of folks who are undecided about who they will be casting their ballots for.
You got to be kidding me, right?

We have had a year worth of campaigning, three presidential debates and one vice president debate, we have had an obscene amount of television ads and millions of words spoken and written about the candidates, and there are still people out there who are looking for that elusive, last minute reason for selecting who they would like to see leading our Nation in the next four years. This is incredible to me.

My question for these people would simple: is the future of our country so low in the priorities of your life that you have paid absolutely no attention to the events of the last four years?

In just about every recession of the last thirty years, I have been affected directly, mostly with layoffs. This time, by the grace of God, I was fortunate enough to be working for a company that did not lay off its employees and was only marginally affected by the economic downturn.
Sure the recession has hit me too: my home lost 30% of its value; my small business I was conducting on the side had to be folded; my expenses (fuel, groceries, utilities, etc.) skyrocketed and, as I live in California, my taxes have gone up. But at least I maintained my employment and that alone makes me thank the good Lord.

My point is that even as my employment status did not change, I still recognize and am terribly concerned about the employment status of every American. In times of struggle, the American people have historically banded together to face the problem and solved it. So it is not just about me and my personal conditions, but one has to look at the national situation and work to make the country whole again.

Why are there still undecided voters? Is it because they have been so involved in the reality shows or video games or whatever else that they have taken no interests in the events in our country for the last four years?
With all that America gives us, doesn't she deserve our attention when it comes to the future of upcoming generations and the survival of our Republic?

Anyone who follows my blog knows my political leaning, but what I am writing is not intended to be partisan. What I am trying to convey is the necessity of each one of us, American citizens, to become knowledgeable about the issues affecting our lives and to make educated decisions.

A week or so ago, reporters went around New York City asking folks in the street their opinion on the events in Libya. Some did not even know what the issue was. At another event, an Obama rally, the reporter asked some black attendees about the attacks in Benghazi and got a question back "who's Ben Ghazi?"
These things may make you smile at one level, but at a deeper level are highly disturbing, because they denote a clear apathy about the events that shape our history.

Ultimately, we get the country we deserve. Four years ago I got the country I did not want nor deserve, but I accepted it as the very expression of our political process, as the reaffirmation of the American principles that have shaped our history.

Still undecided? If that's the case, maybe these folks should stay away form the polls on November 6th and let those of us who love this country and care for its future do the deciding.

President Obama And The Art Of Squandering Capital

By Semperpapa

There are no doubts in anyone’s mind that when Obama engaged in his bid for the presidency of the United States, the historic aspect of his candidacy, being the first black, contributed to the building of a political capital that was unprecedented in our history.

The prospect of the first black President, for black America, was an understandable elation, but one that was based on the wrong foundation. In a Nation like the United States and in our time, the words of Martin Luther King Jr. should have been the guiding force behind Obama’s support:
"I have a dream, that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

Regardless of the reasoning by many of why Barack Hussein Obama should be elected to the highest position of the land and as the leader of the fee world, Obama gained enough political clout that he practically skated into the position.

Everything went the right way for the senator from Illinois, something that many of us conservatives considered as America’s political “perfect storm”.
Obama’s image of a young man with a young family and apparently a lot of energy and desire to improve America was the face value the American people were fed.
The main culprit of the deception perpetrated upon the American people came from the mainstream media. Obama became their candidate and they were hell bent on insuring that the man would get elected.
Any opposition to Obama candidacy was treated by the media as an attack against a black man, with accusations of racism flying at the very mention of a disagreement and the MSM was always ready to search and destroy anyone who dared to dissent. The MSM even openly avoided any proper vetting of the candidate and his record. It was like the past of Obama and his accomplishments, or more likely the lack of them, were to be erased from public knowledge and buried under the mountain of false promises made.

So the historic nature of Obama candidacy, the shameless cheer leading of the MSM and the tiredness of the people toward George W. Bush and Republicans, insured that Obama would get the job, with total disregard for his actual qualifications.

Obama took office in January 2009, flanked by a Democrat controlled Congress. The useless and corrupted leaders of Congress, Harry Reid in the Senate and Nancy Pelosi in the House, guaranteed President Obama the ability to get anything he wanted done.
There are no doubts that the President inherited a very tough economy, that he inherited two ongoing wars, but the political capital he had started to deteriorate almost immediately.
He had campaigned on the closing of Guantanamo Bay prison. To this day, four years later, the prison is still operational.
He had campaigned on bringing the unemployment down, and four years later unemployment is at an all time high since the Great Depression.
He campaigned on ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Today, he claims that he kept his campaign promise in Iraq and is on his way to do the same in Afghanistan.
The problem here is multi-faceted. In the first place, a war is not ended! A war is either won or lost, but the mistake is understandable because Obama’s ability as a president is a lot better than his ability as a Commander-in-Chief. And that is saying something!
What he will not tell us, though, is that his administration miserably failed to negotiate American influence in Iraq. So while he claims to have ended the Iraq conflict, he fails to face up to the reality that we left Iraq to be taken over by Iran and al Qaeda, practically rendering the sacrifice of over 4,000 KIAs and many thousands of gravely wounded Military personnel basically irrelevant.
Today, as he seeks re-election, he is promising the American people he will do the very same thing in Afghanistan in 2014.

President Obama also campaigned on bringing the whole country together stating that he was going to be the President of even those Americans who did not vote for him.
Well, as much as that may have sounded good to many folks, it has translated instead into the most divisive, most class warfare-prone administration we have ever seen.
Obama’s goal of dividing and conquer has worked perfectly according to his experience as a community organizer, his only experience.
Pinning whites against blacks, men against women, rich against poor has been masterful and it is demonstrated by the polarization of our country.
Successful business people are maligned and attacked.
Any dissension on the part of non-Blacks toward the President is still called racist, even if the accusation has been so abused that it has lost any credibility.
Any dissension on the part of Blacks buys a label of Uncle Tom and Oreo.
Than there is the famous ‘war on women’ Obama and the liberals have been claiming conservative are engaging in, all based on false accusations about abortion and contraceptives.
And the new one about disparity in compensation. One thing Obama will not tell us and the MSM will cover up, is that even in the White House staff, women are receiving less pay than men.

At the beginning of his presidency, Obama was facing great economic distress in America, but instead of concentrating on fixing the economic problems of the Nation, instead of creating the right environment for the small business community to create the jobs necessary to put people back to work, Obama concentrated instead on creating a monstrous health care bureaucracy that will not only bankrupt the country financially, but will also destroy the best health care system in the world.

President Obama is masterful in very few things: one is to divide the people and pin them against each other, but he is also masterful in squandering his political capital, as shown by the 2010 mid-term elections.
Many pointed out, during the 2008 campaign, the shortcomings of this candidate, but few actually heard and researched the issues. Obama took the country by storm, telling people what they wanted to hear and playing on the racial component.
He had Congress and he had the popular support, and yet managed to take the country to the edge of financial and security abyss.
I am not sure about the thought process behind the continuous apologizing for America that has been a staple in the Obama administration, but it has defined his presidency.
President Obama could have utilized his political capital to make our country stronger and to improve the lot of the American people, but the trust in the man was squandered from day one.
It is very difficult to trust a man who, among the millions unemployed, the millions losing their homes, thousands of businesses closing, engages in countless golf games, lavish vacations, celebrity appearances and blaming everyone else for his failures.

Obama’s political capital has eroded, as the 2012 campaign is showing. Our country needs a new direction that Obama does not want to provide. He cannot run on his record and every time he does so his assertions are debunked as what they are: just lies.
What he is telling the American people is that he needs four more years to ‘complete’ his work, but considering the utter disaster his work has been and is, I sure fear its ‘completion’.
What Obama is telling us is that we should entrust him with four more years of crony capitalism; taxpayers’ money paying for investments that ultimately only benefit the Democrat Party campaign coffers; more erosion of American influence in the world; more illegal aliens; more jihadists in our mix; more dependency on foreign energy sources; more racial divide; more class warfare; more government intrusion and less freedom. And maybe even the increasing irrelevance of the U.S. Constitution.
We are supposed to embrace four more years of record poverty and record popular dependency upon government.

I was not bamboozled by Mr. Obama in 2008 and, it pains me to say, I was right. I had an inkling of who he really was and my fears came true. Today my beliefs are solidified by the horrendous record the man has racked up in just one term and I shudder at the thought of a second term where he will not have, supposedly, the pressure of re-election.

Obama has made an art of squandering political capital and it is time now to retire him and get back to re-building the country he so masterfully tried to destroy.

The Hell With OpSec, I Got An Election To Win

By Semperpapa
OpSec, for those who still don’t know, is short for Operational Security, a basic strategy that is designed to keep our Military safer while deployed in dangerous zones.

In shorter terminology, OpSec means that anyone who has any knowledge of Military, on going situations is to keep his/her mouth shut.

When my son was in Afghanistan, we were supposed to refrain from even mentioning the general location of his battalion, nor the name of his unit, etc.

One sample of OpSec was the press releases from the Bush administration regarding specific unit names involved in certain operations, like the rescue of Army Pvt. Jessica Lynch or the capture of Saddam Hussein. These details were not available.

Details may have been released at much later time when the news would not have a direct impact on the safety of the operators.

The common press release on certain operations only indicated that the operation had been conducted by Special Forces, never mentioning the actual units.

Such level of Operational Security is essential in the conduct of high risk operations that see our Special Forces involved, even in the short time following the operation itself, all designed to keep the safety of our forces as protected as possible.

The current administration, though, has obviously not received the memo describing the importance of OpSec, because from the raid that got bin Laden to the deployment of forces in Jordan, the mouthpieces of Obama have been spilling the beans in the grotesque attempt to portray the president as a strong leader in foreign affairs.

The barrels of the weapons of the Seal Team that successfully killed bin Laden were not yet cool that the administration was boasting about the raid and declaring to the world that it was Seal Team 6 that had carried out Obama’s courageous order.

Big mouth Biden also pointed out the involvement of the elite unit less than a week after the raid. The result was that few months later a chopper loaded with Seal Team members and other Special Forces members was shot down and dozens lost their lives.

What the morons in control do not realize is that the enemy is there on the ground; and has eyes continuously trained on our units; and are very capable to identify important targets, especially when the targets are laced by our unscrupulous politicians.

Today I hear on the radio that the administration is moving military assets near North Africa in the attempt to locate and destroy those responsible for the assassination of Amb. Stevens and the three other Americans in Benghazi.

It is bad enough when OpSec is violated following an operation, but it becomes criminal when it is violated prior to an operation, which appears to be the case today.

Why are we telling our enemies that we are coming?

Why are we telephoning our intentions?

Maybe it is a ploy that the Obama campaign is using in trying to further muddle up the reality of its failure in Benghazi, trying to tell the Obamadroids that yes, this president is in control and that the criticism from the Romney campaign and most Americans is not duly leveled against Obama.

Whatever the reason for screaming to the four winds anything related to what may be an impending military operation, it is unconscionable that once again the Obama regime is potentially placing the lives of our Military members in danger in order to score some cheap, late political points.

On the other hand, We the People are so damn used to this administration behaving in morally reprehensible manner that just one more example does not really mean much any more.

In the meantime, I pray for those who are being sold out by Obama, including the son of a friend of ours who is a member of Marine Recon and who is somewhere in that area.

The families of those killed in Benghazi are urging both campaigns not to use their tragedy for political gain, but as much as I can understand their appeal I am also convinced that the cover up the Obamadroids have engaged in Libya must be uncovered.

Getting to the bottom of this Obama criminal act may not bring back to life those who have died, but may save future families from having to deal with the same grief.

My Final Thought On The VP Debate

By Semperpapa

By now, thousands of words have been spoken or written about last Thursday Vice Presidential debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan. These are my last ones.

My personal feeling after I sat for 90 minutes watching the debate was that I just wasted an hour and a half of my life, time that I will never get back. Moreover, I felt that Mr. Ryan wasted 90 minutes of his time he could have utilized much more efficiently.

I got home from work just in time to catch the last fifteen minutes of the affair and it took me less than fifteen seconds to start yelling at the TV, at old uncle Joe and the so-called moderator. But I expected that.
Than I watched the whole thing, thanks to my wife recording it for me (not sure if I had done something wrong and she aimed at some sort of punishment).

The first impression was that the demented Biden was off his medications and out of control, but then I realized that his 'performance' was part of the usual strategy that Biden has been using for the last three decades to be successful in maintaining his position in the Senate.
Joe Biden went to Kentucky to intimidate Paul Ryan, try to get the Wisconsin Congressman to 'react' to Joe's brand of thuggery. And he went to Kentucky to scare the American people.
The goal was clear: an attempt to regain some of the ground that his boss lost in the first debate with Romney or at least stop the bleeding.
He may have succeeded in some quarters of the lunatic left fringe, but the people he was supposed to be most impressed were not. The people that were allegedly undecided were not amused by the histrionics of the old man. But all this has been covered at nausea by the media.

What I realized, after managing to get my blood pressure back down to manageable levels, was that the fool who showed up at the debate is one heartbeat away from holding the presidency of my country.
I sure did not need another reason for wanting the worst administration in the history of the Nation to be sent into retirement, or preferably exile, but the performance of good old Joe sent literal shivers down my spine.
The possibility of this unhinged, rude, obnoxious moron becoming the leader of the free world was as frightening as having a violent pedophile in charge of a kindergarten.

I understand that the VP is a position relatively secondary in the whole prospective of things, but he/she is the person that would take the reins of the Nation should something tragic happen to the President, and unfortunately such a scenario is always a possibility. So thinking of this lunatic being in the driver's seat of our country is a truly horrifying prospect.

The laughable part of this whole thing is the report that has surfaced few weeks ago that indicated Joe Biden's intention of running for President in 2016. I chucked that up to just plain BS, but after the debate I am not so sure anymore.
During the debate, Joe Biden literally dumped on the intelligence community and on the State Dept. claiming that neither he nor Obama were aware of the multiple requests from the diplomatic detail in Benghazi for additional security. In a swift swoop, which sent the White House into a spinning frenzy, Biden was able to denigrate the work of thousands of intelligence officers, but most importantly throw Hillary Clinton under the bus. And Hillary Clinton being one of the names being circulated for the 2016 presidential race, the fact that her state Dept. allegedly did not communicate the security situation in Libya, practically, in Joe's feeble mind, nails the coffin of Hillary, leaving him to hold the banner of the fringe left in 2016.

This all sort of backfired. Congressional hearings have uncovered that Joe's 'ignorance defense' was just plain ignorant.
But there is another point I am disturbed by. Let's assume that Joe is correct in stating that he and Obma did not know. Is it not disturbing that the President and the Vice President are not aware of a potentially lethal terrorist situation for our diplomatic contingent?
Maybe if Obama or Biden would attend more intelligence briefings, the alleged disconnect would have not occurred, and maybe four American citizens would still be alive. What the hell happened to the concept of "the buck stops here"? Sure a complete alien concept for the current corrupt administration.
Ultimately my belief is that the WH knew, but was too busy in its re-election mode. The WH knew but it was more important to advance its green policy by sending thousands of dollars worth of Chevy Volts to the embassy in Vienna, Austria, than to have the proper security in Libya.
But this is all a laughing matter for the lunatic Joe Biden, because he just got rid of one contestant for his 2016 presidential aspirations.

Joe Biden has a long history of being an attack dog for the liberal throngs. He really could care less about the working people of America, his main focus being the maintenance of his power.
Joe, in three decades of sucking up the blood of our Nation, has gone from a middle class earner to a multi-millionaire and not because he is a saver or such a genius at investing, but because he has used the power of his position to gain favors for over three decades, regardless whose back he had to step on.

Finally, I was happy to see that Mr. Ryan kept his cool. He demonstrated the level of mannerism that conservatives still cherish. A startling contrast to be sure.
What I saw was self-control, the lack of which prevents me from ever consider a political run.
I thank God for people like Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney.

Well, this is my last word on the VP debate. No I did not enjoy it, but it reenforces even more my convictions about the absolute necessity to send Obama and Biden and all the other Obamadroids back to whatever hell they came from.

Message To Magic Johnson: Spare Me Your Brand Of Racism

By Semperpapa
I was made aware of this video by my wife who just happened to catch it on CNN. She was so incensed by the statements that the former basketball star made regarding president Obama that she told me about it on the phone, even before I got home from work.

So I searched and found the video. I must say that the comments from my wife were much more polite and PG-rated than the ones that came out of my mouth.

Well, watch the video and see what I mean.

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/bestoftv/2012/10/10/exp-erin-magic-johnson-weighs-in-on-president-obama.cnn

OK, so everything is going well: Magic sitting there across the obviously awe-struck bimbo, until the subject of Stacey Dash came out.

Ms. Dash, unknown to me until she decided to get off the plantation and demonstrate she actually has a brain, twitted some time ago that she supports Romney for president.

The problem for the black community, the liberal community and obviously Magic Johnson, is that Ms. Dash is a black woman.

Stacey Dash stated, after the liberal garbage called every name in the book from slave to Oreo, that she makes her choice based on the content of the character, not the color of the skin (man, these words sounds so familiar!).

But for Magic Johnson, as seen in the video, the issue is definitely not the character, but the color of the skin.

And his words are lost in the emptiness of a politically correct America, fast approaching a dangerous social abyss.

I would like to ask Mr. Johnson how would he feel if someone would make the statement that white people should not vote for Obama because he’s black?

He would probably be the first one to lament that racism is alive, not to mention the Obamamedia demanding the head of whoever made such statement on a silver platter.

But Magic Johnson gets a pass, because he truly is an influential member of the oppressed black community. Right?

Johnson may have come from humble beginnings, but he has done well for a poor black boy, including being the co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Yes, Magic has done well considering that he applied the highest level of capitalistic principles to build an extremely lucrative financial empire.

No bad for a poor black boy within a racist white greedy America.

So now he supports Obama. Interestingly, he does not appear, in the video, to be such a fan of the additional taxes rich people like him will be stuck with if Obama gets re-elected, but he still supports Obama, because he a brother.

Just like the other idiot, the J Z dude, who believes in smaller government, but will vote for Obama because he’s black, Johnson is allowing his own racist believes to dictate the support for a guy that stands for everything contrary to what made him a very wealthy black businessman.
Finally, I may not be black, but I was insulted by his assertion that blacks will not vote for Romney. Paraphrasing, they may stay home and not vote at all, but will not vote for Romney.

How insulting is that for all those blacks in America who are actually thinking with their own brains, instead of the color of their skin; for all those blacks who actually want to leave a better America to their children; for those blacks who actually believe in the Exceptionalism of our country.

I never had much respect for Magic Johnson. In the first place, sport "celebrities" impress me just as much as entertainers.
Second, his morality, which eventually cost him his HIV positive diagnosis, cast a not too favorable light on the guy.
I was sort of happy that he put some effort to create businesses in Los Angeles, even if the emphasis has always been on "black" businesses. Not a big problem for me, as I believe that giving the chance at being business owners is a positive thing, regardless of the color of the skin.
But the ideology he sported in the interview regarding his motivation for supporting Obama, his generalization of how real black people should vote and his insulting approach to label black Americans has brought the dude back into my rating of douche bag.

So, my dear Magic Johnson, just spare me your brand of racism and your hypocrisy, because if Mr. Romney is elected, you will get to keep a lot more of your money and still have a record of racist pandering for all those who feel like you.
In short: I got no use for you either.

Just my thoughts!
