The Advantage Of Being In Bed With The Regime

Politics is the ever corrupting activity mankind has been engaging in since the dawn of time, the second oldest profession, not much different than the oldest.

Last month the EPA (read Obama) started to enforce new regulations for power plants emission standard:

At the time of this last step for the administration to further kill the energy-producing industry in the United States, critics waited for the first “exemption” the Obama regime would grant, in the good old Soviet fashion. And they did not have to wait for long.

A power plant that has been stalled in its completion in the San Joaquin Valley in California, received its exemption from having to adhere to the new emission rules for carbon dioxide.

The Avenal Power Center, a 600-megawatt plant, received the gift from Obama and they could probably thank the fact that the equipment used in the power plant, two natural gas powered and one steam powered turbines, are manufactured by General Electric.

This type of equipment is surely not cheap and it does not take a huge leap of faith to be suspicious of the coincidence between this first exemption and the recruiting of GE CEO Jeff Immelt by the president.

The move from the Obama administration comes on the heels of a New Orleans federal judge, Martin Feldman, finding the federal government in contempt of court for its actions regarding the oil drilling moratorium established as a reaction to the 2010 BP oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico.

The federal judge is stating that the federal government is purposely disregarding his ruling with its reluctance to issue new permits for offshore drilling, seriously impacting the economy of the Gulf region and the dependency of America to foreign oil.

Maybe GE should get into the oil-drilling business, at least we could get some movement on the permits and some jobs back in the area.

So there is a great advantage in getting in bed with a despotic regime.

Support the regime and even if you are one of those huge evil corporations, you are assured to benefit from that move.

Huge conglomerates like General Electric are always big supporters of totalitarian governmental takeovers, as they are posed to achieve market hegemony when government regulations kill competition from smaller organizations.

It is abundantly clear that the Obama regime is moving in the direction of bleeding the private sector to death and to centralize the most significant industries within government control. They have attempted and still push for socialization of the health care industry, while at the same time issuing over 700 to date “exemptions” to organizations that openly support the Socialist agenda of the president.

It is most unlikely that judge Feldman will be able to force Obama’s stooge Ken Salazar to stand in front of his court to respond the charge of contempt of court. Once again, when a federal judge sides with the regime, he is called courageous even when he or she nullify the will of the people, but when a federal judge follows the Constitution, he or she is suddenly engaging in judicial activism. Just fine if it means controlling the population and removing freedoms, not so fine when it reinforces the law and the interests of the Nation.

What Part Of "Unconstitutional" Don't You Understand

The US District judge in Florida issued a ruling last week that declared Obamacare unconstitutional, and yet the Senate yesterday voted down its repeal in a 47-51 vote.
All Republicans voted yes, while all Democrats voted no, with two abstaining, Lieberman and Mark Warner.

Personally, I do not see the necessity of the vote, as the issue of killing the monstrous law has become a judicial matter. The only purpose could be to allow the voters to target those senators who still support the law as they bid for re-election in 2012.

How hypocritical can the left be! They are today all crying foul against federal judge Roger Vinson for his decision calling it "judicial activism", but they are just fine with federal judges striking down a lawful Arizona law (injunction promptly enforced), or federal judges overturning the will of the people like in California after propositions were voted on for gay marriage and illegal immigration.

I guess I should be used to the hypocrisy by now, but I cannot help being incensed by it.
We will see what the outcome will be as the US Supreme Court will take on the issue.

In the meantime, all gradual provisions of Obamacare should be prevented from being implemented, insuring that the financial damage they represent for the economy and the industry is contained.

The Not So Hard To Understand Truth About Radical Islam

It is not really that hard to see the light about radical Islam and its goal. Even the blinded, feel good, utopia lovers on the Left should have enough brain cells left to see what we are witnessing in Arab countries these days.

As it has been mentioned in so many venues, the unrest in Tunisia and Egypt, the rumbling in Jordan and the turn of events in Lebanon are a testimony to a wide spread push on the part of militant Islam toward pre-positioning for the takeover of entire society and the formation of Sharia controlled nations.

The truth is that the misconceptions about Islam are wide spread, even if the real aspects of it are as out in the open as they could be.

Islam is a socio-political, economic and military ideology masqueraded as a religious current.

There are surely millions of Muslims who are simply following the religious concepts of Islam, refraining from the urge of imposing their beliefs upon others.

But there are those who see their goal to be Islam as a conquering current that will at some point dominate every country in the world.

The disturbing part for this writer is the developments seen in the last two years.

Since radical Islam has been in an open war against the West in the 1970s and 80s, the operators of that war were labeled as terrorists, enemies of freedom and civility lurking in the dark corners of their cowardly acts against innocent civilians.

These terrorists have been fought covertly and overtly by every civilized society, still the Islamic rats have been proliferating and undermining entire societies for decades.

What is disturbing to see is that from one day to the next, in January 2009, these terrorist, these Islamic radical terrorists, have ceased to be such and within two years, as we are witnessing the reaction of the White House to the events in Egypt, they have become mainstream political realities.

We are witnessing individuals openly supporting the ideologies of the enemies of America in our very own universities, not compelled to hide their enthusiasm for terror groups like Hamas and Hesbollah any longer.

The administration has been quick to demonstrate its support for the public uprising in Egypt, including the acceptance of a group like the Muslim Brotherhood which has been working extensively on bringing their style of Islam to the United States for the last 90 years, and yet the administration remained silent when pro-democracy demonstrations occurred in Iran.

All indications are that the current president is inclined to, in the very least, be accepting of radical Islam. Too many factors point at this conclusion. He even wrote that he would side with Muslims if things turned ugly. And with the posturing about Iran in 2009 and Egypt today, Obama is remaining true to his words.

The almost amusing part of all this is the actions of the Left. We have Obama’s cheerleaders like Anderson Cooper being punched in Egypt; Katie Couric being swarmed by protesters; and we see members of Code Pink showing up in the street of Cairo in support of the overthrow of that government. The amusing part is that a victory for the forces of radical Islam would immediately translate into a total persecution of those who are today supporting them just to sing the praises of their president.

Here in the United States we still have the chance to let our votes speak for us. It is my hope that that chance will remain long enough to insure that this president will be fired in November 2012.

And it is also my hope that the damages made nationally and internationally by a political leadership bent on radicalize our country will not be severe enough to demand a large blood sacrifice on the part of our citizenry.

Al Qaeda And The Nuclear Threat

According to some of the documents leaked out by Weakileak, Al Qaeda operatives are working on the application of nuclear material to IEDs that would be used against coalition forces in Afghanistan.

In a report published by the Daily Mail, terrorist operatives have been attempting to stockpile nuclear material to fabricate "dirty bombs" to be used in terrorist attacks against military forces and 9-11 style attacks against civilian targets.

The information was obtained by intelligence operatives from an Indian diplomat who stated that Al Qaeda may already be able, technically, to fabricate weapons going even beyond the simple "dirty"type of device.
The material they would be using could be fissile material slowly smuggled from the Pakistan stockpile, and considering that the news just broke last week that Pakistan has doubled its nuclear arsenal, one can conclude that such level of proliferation would facilitate the "misplacement" of small quantities of uranium and plutonium.

Once again, while our enemies increase their capability to inflict terrifying casualties upon our Military deployed and possibly against civilian targets here in the United States, the current administration is further getting in bed with the same characters, be it in Egypt or Pakistan.

The fact that Pakistan is characterized as an allied nation, whatever that may entail, does not translates in the absence of radical elements within the leadership of Pakistan who are more interested in undermining the success of the American operations in Afghanistan.
All one has to analyze is the conduct of Saudi Arabia, a country that has been working assiduously toward the expansion of radical Islam in the United States, utilizing the very laws of our country, for the sole purpose to undermine our society.
Pakistan just does the same remotely by affording asylum to the Taliban and Al Qaeda within its borders providing training and support.
And one cannot forget the threat that nuclear Iran represents in regard to the ability of terrorist cells acquiring nuclear material. Anyone who believes that Ahmedinejad would have any hesitation in sharing some enriched uranium with someone like Kahlid Sheik Mohamed or Osama Bin Laden, really needs to have their heads examined.
And yet, Obama is all to willing to break bread with Mohamed AlBaradei and the Muslim Brotherhood, the first who kept his eyes shut at the IAEA as Teheran marched toward its nuclear reality, the second an organization that has been laying the foundations for an Islamic state for the last 90 years.

What are we facing is an increasing chance for some horrendous terrorist attack perpetrated against our interests, either against our forces in theater or against civilian targets on our soil.
Compiling the danger we are facing is the absolute shamble of our southern border.
Just last week the information about some radical imam who had been deported from Canada, was caught trying to be smuggled into the United States from Mexico.
Also just made public was the report of an Iranian suicide bomber booklet that was found in the Arizona desert just north of the border.

While the pro-illegal immigration crowd is so vocal about the "rights" of illegal aliens, the criminal Washington crowd is purposely or by incompetence avoiding any attempt to secure the border.
DHS Janet Napolitano is adamant in finding excuses for what is a clear failure of the administration in insuring that terrorists do not enter our country.

Disturbing reports have surfaced about large numbers of Middle Eastern men residing in certain parts of Mexico and certain South American countries, learning to speak Spanish.
In many cases, it is difficult to separate Mexican from Middle Eastern somatic traits, potentially creating the best fertile ground for wanna be terrorists to enter the country.

And what would stop Al Qaeda operatives to do just that? And with some nuclear device?

It is unlikely that they would be able to smuggle in a 20-megaton device, but all it would really take is for a dirty device to be exploded downtown any city in the US, creating massive casualties and rendering the area inhabitable for decades to come.

What would be the reaction from the Obama administration?
Probably an immediate call for martial law and suspension of the Constitution.
And maybe that is the ultimate goal.

Obama Backing The Wrong Horse

President Obama is clearly backing the wrong horse in Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood.

Reports of the covert support of the uprising in that country by the US government, the undermining of Mubarak and now secret meetings with leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood are disturbing signs of what has been a consistent tacit approval on the part of the administration of Islamic resurgence.

On the other hand, the Obama White House was pretty much silent as the protesters against the Islamic state were being slaughtered in Iran in 2009.
In those days, those protesting the Ahmedinejad regime and the corrupted leaders in Teheran, were practically ignored by the US president. Untold carnage took place in that country as Obama went golfing.

But this time is different. Egypt is different, because the demonstrators in the streets, at least those who are seeking a more democratic government and a better way of life, have been taken hostage by the radical Islamists who see the best chance in years to get hold of a large state in the Middle East.

So while the Muslim Brotherhood is telling Israel that it needs to prepare for war, while the organization is realizing the first step in its gaining control of a military the size of the Egyptian one, and while the MB is fomenting even greater unrest across the region, the US president is suddenly not shy to meddle in the affairs of a foreign country.

Standing up to anti-Islamic forces in Iran was meddling, supporting Islamic takeover in Egypt is in line with the historic support of America for democracy.

Definitely backing the wrong horse. And an action America will pay a considerable price for.

White House senior adviser Valery Jarrett did not miss the opportunity to make a fool of herself and to insult a member of the Military, when at an exclusive dinner party in Washington, she asked a general to get her another glass of wine.

She mistook the general for one of the waiters and called him over to refresh her drink.
The general, obviously a good sport, did get her her drink and brought it over to her and proceeded to sit down at the table occupied by Jarrett.

Once Again, That Pesky Constitution

After the House of Representatives repeal bill, Obamacare got a new rejection, this time coming from a U.S. District Judge in Florida on Monday.

Judge Roger Vinson, in Pensacola, issued a ruling stating that the health care bill passed by Congress is unconstitutional, as it violates the Commerce Clause of the Constitution.

More specific, the judge stated that the individual mandate requiring people to buy insurance or being fined, goes outside the founding document and that therefore the whole legislation should be scrapped.

Part of Vinson’s ruling states:

"I must reluctantly conclude that Congress exceeded the bounds of its authority in passing the act with the individual mandate. That is not to say, of course, that Congress is without power to address the problems and inequities in our health care system. The health care market is more than one-sixth of the national economy, and without doubt Congress has the power to reform and regulate this market. That has not been disputed in this case. The principal dispute has been about how Congress chose to exercise that power here,"

Of course the White House is disputing the ruling, seeking a stay, but in view of the rejection of the House, the rejection from the American people and the aligning of many states against the law, it is expected that the issue will be reaching the U.S. Supreme Court.

To complicate things for Obamacare, the news of so many organizations having succeeded in obtaining waivers from the government, over 700 so far, has generated popular suspicion, especially when many of these organizations are unions and others that historically have been supporters of progressive ideologies.

The hypocrisy of the waivers is not escaping the common sense of the American people, who are increasingly demanding explanations. As the campaigning for the 2012 elections is gearing up, this is certainly going to be a hot topic.

There is no doubt that some reform may be needed in the healthcare industry, but, as demonstrated by every other government controlled industry in every other country, the solution is definitely not a government take over of it.

Historically the bureaucracy of the federal government has proven to be the most inefficient way to provide services for the people (i.e. the United States Post Office), so the idea of shifting 1/6 of the American economy to government is preposterous and frightening.

Surely reform could come in small steps and always under the umbrella of private enterprise.

I know this is not the end of this controversy, that there is still battle in front of those opposed to that disastrous legislation, but I am hopeful we are on the right track.
