From One Of The Useless Mouths Of The United Nations

By Semperpapa

It appears that the somewhat successful drone missions conducted by our Armed Forces against terrorists in Pakistan have motivated some United Nations tool to attack the policy.

A call for an immediate halt in drone attacks was made by an Australian professor, one Phillip Alston, in a report he filed as a special UN investigator on extrajudicial executions.

Here is the article.

What has struck me the most about the professor’s report is that he considers drone attacks only acceptable when the situation prohibits the capture of the target. He sustains that the US should, whenever and wherever possible, capture the terrorists instead of killing them.

Ok, I realize that this Alston is a professor and that I am definitely no match with this guy’s intellect, but I find highly irrelevant any of the crap that he is feeding the UN for the sole purpose of justifying the lucrative compensation he must receive for his so-called services.
I also realize that in his report Alston mentions other countries as culpable for the practice of assassination, but in reality, considering that the US is the Nation using the drone attack method, it is obvious that the report is targeted to the United States.

In the first place, when terrorists are pin pointed in the vastly remote and barred areas of Pakistan or Waziristan by drones flying at 30,000 to 80,000 feet, and when the closest Special Force or CIA asset is few hundred miles away, it is highly probable that the possibility of “apprehending” the terrorist is not a viable option. So the choice is that we either let them go and hope for a better opportunity for some good “mirandizing” in the future, or we just kill the bastards.

By show of hands: how many want the scum dead? I thought so.

Moreover, I am of the opinion that the good professor would be slightly more inclined to pull the trigger if it was his family at risk. It is very easy, as it is so often witnessed, for the elitist of academia to theorized the benevolent, touchy-feely approach when they are thousands of miles away from the dirt and blood of the battlefield, sitting happy in their plush offices, sipping on their soy-moka-cappuccino-light-on-the-non-dairy latte, contemplating which brainwashed young coed to woo and possibly get lucky with.

All the theories from ‘feel good’ scholars, amounted to absolutely nothing on a crisp September 11 morning, just as much as they mean nothing to the US Armed Forces sitting in the sands of Iraq and Afghanistan trying to accomplish their missions and stay alive at the same time.

And on a side note: professor Alston teaches at the New York University School of Law.
Are there any more doubts about the reasons for the new generation of college students’ anti-American stance? Alston is the example of the ideological corruption perpetrated by universities faculties across the Nation upon our young people.
Most of these seditious characters are from the Middle East, but, as in this case, they come from all over the globe.

Just my thoughts!
