Muslim Brotherhood Not Interested In Power

By Semperpapa

Sure, and Nancy Pelosi is not interested in Botox.

During a news conference conducted by Mohammed Morsi, spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood organization in Cairo, the radical fundamentalist Islamic organization declared that it is not seeking political power in the aftermath of the unrest in the North African country.

Mr. Morsi stated,

“The Muslim Brotherhood are not seeking power. We want to participate, not to dominate. We will not have a presidential candidate, we want to participate and help, we are not seeking power.”

He was also flanked by Mohammed Katatny, head of the MB parliamentary bloc, who stated that

“We reject the religious state.”

So, if I understand this correctly, a radical Islamic group with branches across the globe, whose mission statement is the creation of an world Islamic nation or Caliphate, which has been kept under oppression by the Mubarak regime and who has been fomenting the unrest in Egypt is suddenly not interested in gaining power in that country at the moment when the regime that has kept them under wrap appears to be headed toward capitulation.
Are we really to believe that?

For the last 80 years the Muslim Brotherhood has been working exactly for this sort of events and it is fitting that the first place where the MB will be pushing for the beginning of the Islamic state is the same nation where their organization was first born.

The spokesmen for the group also mentioned that the peace treaty with Israel will remain unchanged, although they feel that Palestinian statehood should soon become a reality.
Of course, the twin Mohammeds did not comment on the fact that the failure for the formation of a Palestinian state is solely to be placed at the feet of another Nobel Peace Prize winner, Yassir Arafat. I guess we do not want to get lost in small details.

It is a telling tale that suddenly the MB, which here in the United States can be linked to Hamas supporter CAIR and ISNA, has gained such political relevance that even the wannabe politician ElBaradei is conveniently downplaying their history of radicalism. Not to mention the recognition the Brotherhood received from Obama and Clinton.

There is very little truth in anything that the MB declares at any time. The strategy of subterfuge is accepted and encouraged by their pseudo-religious ideology.
Only time will prove me right or wrong, but I am of the opinion that MB is slowly positioning itself as events unfold and while the outcome of the Egyptian revolt is still uncertain.
People have been demonstrating in the streets for two weeks now, demanding the ouster of Mubarak, but the Egyptian president is still in power as of today, in spite of the pressure that he has received by the meddling Obama.
The moment that the political situation in that country is going to move in the direction of the removal of Mubarak, the moment that violence will really explode in the streets of the Egyptian cities, MB will be willing and able to step in and fill the power vacuum that will ensue. And they will do so for no other reason that they will be responding to their patriotic duty, for the good of the country and with the support of the American leadership.

And that will be a sad, dangerous day for Israel and the United States and for democracy in its totality.

Just my thoughts!
