Enough Is Enough

22 Aug 2009

Do you remember Cindy Sheehan? She was the mother who after losing her son in Iraq became the face of the anti-war, anti-Bush movement in America. She was used and abused by the MSM who manipulated here as much as it was convenient to attack the President and the war policies in Iraq and Afghanistan, sponsored, paid and paraded by the media across every television set in America.
There was no news media report, from the National to the local level that would not at least dedicate a snippet to the grieving mom Cindy, with anchor people stepping all over each other to have the woman speak in front of their cameras.

Now, I know several Gold Star mothers and fathers. I have seen their pain on their faces and have been in awe of their strengths and characters, completely amazed by the composure they demonstrated in the unspeakable, indescribable pain they have been sentenced to suffer for the rest of their lives. As far as Sheehan, as much as I felt sorrow for her loss, I also found out that she really was not what one would describe as “mother of the year” as the MSM had toiled so hard to depict. So, as much as I could sympathize with her motherly pain, I could not reconcile her actions with honoring her son’s service and sacrifice.

One compliment I must offer Sheehan is about consistency, at least so far. The reason is that news report tell that she is planning on staging an anti-war protest at Martha’s Vineyard when Obama will be there vacationing. She is reportedly in disagreement with the President regarding the war in Afghanistan, the increase in troop level, and still about our presence in Iraq.

Well, it appears that the anti-Bush darling of the MSM has lost some of her appeal. In an interview with a Chicago radio station, ABC anchorman Charles Gibson was asked about the protest Sheehan is planning against Obama, and the ABC strongman practically told her that he had had enough of her protest. This is part of what Gibson said of Sheehan:

It's such a sad story. Martha Raddatz [of ABC News] wrote a terrific book about one battle that took place in Iraq, and it was the battle in which Cindy's son was killed. And you look at somebody like that and you think here's somebody who's just trying to find some meaning in her son's death. And you have to be sympathetic to her. Anybody who has given a son to this country has made an enormous sacrifice, and you have to be sympathetic. But enough already.

"But Enough Already"

The difference between the embrace Cindy received just few years back, including Gibson interview and following her to the Bush ranch in Crawford, Texas, and the rejection of today is astounding. Is it time that has made Cindy unpopular for the Media? Certainly not! The major difference is the man in the White House.
If the President would have been McCain, you can bet your bottom dollar that Gibson would have been in tow to Martha’s Vineyard or wherever else Sheehan and McCain would have been. But the President is Obama and there is no way in hell that Gibson or the rest of the Media will allow the little woman to add anything to the tough stretch Obama has been going through in the last few weeks.

The Media manipulated this woman and her pain to advance their anti-Bush agenda and after the candidate they invested whatever little credibility they still had, won the elections, there is no way that they are going to allow her to tarnish the Messiah in any way.
I can predict, and be very safe saying so, that there will be absolutely no coverage in the MSM of Cindy Sheehan in Martha’s Vineyard. There will be no interview with Charlie Gibson or Katie Koric, no melodramatic reporting from any of the CNN anchorettes. Nothing.

And surely, there will be no George Soros to bankroll the protest.
Well, Cindy, you are on your own now. You have outlived your usefulness to the vultures of the airwaves and are not only not needed any longer, but you are actually now attacking the Anointed One and you better not or they will destroy you. We conservatives have respect for your status as a Gold Star mom, while the Left could not care less about it, so the mild treatment you received from those of us that disagree with you is nothing compared to the character assassination methodology Liberals will put you through if you dare attack their king Obama.

I am really sorry for this, because no political agenda should take prevalence over the sacrifice the American Military has made since 9-11-01, but this is not the 1940s and, with the notable exception of a percentage of the population, ours is NOT the Greatest Generation, as personal interest and greed and political agenda have trampled the true principles of our country.

In any case, Cindy, enough is enough. Just go away now. MSM does not need you anymore.

And these are my thoughts!
