Begging For Votes

By Semperpapa

Two stupid bills have been defeated in California today, as the State Assembly members are trying to limit the rage of Californians and begging for votes.

One of the bills was aimed at banning plastic bags in groceries stores. It was defeated.

I know what you are saying: California has no other problems, maybe more pressing? Well yes we do, but the bill regarding the regulation of groceries carts is still in the works.

Regardless, common sense and political pandering defeated a piece of stupid legislation that the environmental terrorists had been able to take it to the point of being even considered in Sacramento.

The second, and thankfully much more important bill, was the defeat of a bill that would have made illegal for Californians to open carry firearms.

According to the law, it is legal in California to carry a rifle or a holstered pistol out in the open as long as it is unloaded.

Some Assemblywoman from San Diego, a democrat of course, Lori Seldana had proposed the criminalization of a legal right, proposing to make it a misdemeanor.

For more information on what sparked Seldana to propose such bill please see my previous post "2nd Amendment, California Style" from last April.

The bill had passed the state senate but was defeated in the State Assembly, another indication of some constitutional rights still remaining or just more voters' pandering.

Well, at least today's work of the California State Assembly was not a total waste of money and time, as it usually is.

Just my thoughts!
