"One Of The Finest Fighting Forces"...WTF?

By Blitzkrieg

Not to be too critical of the Moron-in-Chief, but WTF does he mean when he says that he is honored to be commander-in-chief of "one of the finest fighting forces the world has ever known"?

Hey asshole, you have the honor to be commander-in-chief of the BEST fighting force that has ever blessed the surface of this damn planet!
The fact is that even as you lie through your teeth and want to blow smoke in the eyes of the feeble American crowd that still supports you, you cannot even bring your sorry self to address the United States Military for what it really is.
Your dislike for anything that represents the most honorable part of our country is so blatant that you cannot even qualify it for what it is. You cannot digest the fact that the United States Exceptionalism has been such because of the ability of the US Military to project its power by inflicting death and destruction on the enemies of the Nation and at the same time being able to conduct the most sensible, compassionate missions of assistance to those in need.

Obama hates the country he has been elected to lead, and naturally it is impossible for this guy to recognize the importance of its Military.

Well, Mr. President, the dishonor is all ours!

Blietzkrieg - hit them hard and fast!

  1. As out of character as it is for me to say anything positive about Barack Obama, I must say I can't see what's wrong with that quote...

"One of the best" does not imply below the top-spot, it only implies that he is respecting his allies enough to not say "Yeah, we rule, you suck! Now send more cannon-fodder..."

As a British citizen, this is one of the few things that he's said that I appreciate. Our soldiers stand shoulder-to-shoulder with yours, and often make the ultimate sacrifice for the mutual benefit of *both* our nations - are you really so proud as to disrespect (and dishonour) us, your staunchest allies - by denigrating our armed forces (who fight and *die* as much for America's freedom as for Britain's) to second-best?

  2. From Blitzkrieg:

I never implied that any of the American Allies are any less than the forces of the United States. And don't give me the bullshit about respecting any of them, especially you British troops. The asshole we have in the WH has been nothing but awful in your regard.
By the way, Semperpapa's son, United States Marine, told me how impressed he was with your SAS, with whom he had to work with while on his deployment in A-Stan last year. He labeled them "out of their fucking mind" which is a big compliment from a Marine.
The point of my rant is that on the occasion of Memorial Day, on the occasion he was speaking, it is customary for a real president to praise our troops. Our Allies should be praised with actions the rest of the year.
As for the sacrifices you British soldiers have made in support of America, there is absolutely no doubt about it!

  3. No, you've come at this issue 180 degrees in the wrong direction. Are you qualified to say for sure that the US fighting man is better at his job than a Roman legionary? What about an English longbowman, a Mongol horse archer or a Panzergrenadier? The history of civilization is chock-full of legendary military forces, operating with different constraints, doctrines, terrain and technology.

Let's face it, nobody has the kind of expertise required to make that kind of judgement. Anyone who claims otherwise is just blowing smoke and indulging in empty bragging, which the President wisely chose to avoid.

kingmaker, you are the one looking at this wrong. you can take your Roman legionaires, your Mongols or even Japanese ninjas and studying their lethality they have nothing against a well trained soldier with an M4.
Lethality makes the warrior. Technology and training today is such that if political correctness did not stop our troops from actually doing their job, wars would be very short.
And let's not forget the issue of "assistance." Our Military is not just the most lethal, but also always the first to be on the ground aiding people in grave need.
If you have any historic data of Japanese Imperial forces "helping" other nations in need, or SS Panzer units coming to the help of victims of natural disasters, i'd appreciate a proof.
But besides the tactical side of the issue, the moron-in-chief showed his usual lack of class. what you call "empty bragging" could mean something to you, but on the occasion of Memorial Day, a real president would be more than justified in being preferential toward those who have died in defense of America. he has 364 other days in the year to apologize for America and to suck up to others.
