Haiti Earthquake

13 January 2010

Yesterday the small island nation of Haiti was hit by a 7.0 earthquake, centered about 10 miles from the nation capital of Port-au-Prince.
From the preliminary reports, the devastation is horrific and wide spread. The estimated casualty level is expected to be very high.

Immediately following the breaking of the news of the seismic activity, President Obama pledged the help and support for the people of Haiti, which really means that the US Military is probably already on its way to the region.

The prompt response from the White House is a welcomed event (I wish the same could have been said about the response to the "brief bomber" attempt to kill 300 innocent people on Christmas Day) and it is obvious that no golf or basktball game was going on.

Just as it always happens when a disaster of this magnitude strikes anywhere in the world, America will respond with its generosity and compassion. The same generosity that was demonstrated after the tsunami in Indonesia or the earthquakes in Iran and China.
And all from the same America that everyone in the world loves to hate and some plot to attack and destroy.

It is not Russia or China, nor Cuba or Venezuela or Iran who will mobilized resources from both civilian and Military agency to rush to the aid the stricken people of Haiti.
Yes, it is Imperialistic America and especially its bloodthirsty Military that will reach the Haitian people and start bringing help, aid and security to them.

And the American people, even those who have suffered economically by the misguided policies of an out-of-control government, will donate some of their scarce resources to help those in greater need.

Why? Because that is what America is; that is what America has always been; that is what America has always represented for people across the globe, even when no gratitude was forthcoming or displayed.

Just another example of that American exceptionalism that Obama and his Progressive anti-American thugs are so diligently trying to eradicate.

And these are my thoughts!
