Kudos or Not!

When few weeks ago the White House had classified memos regarding the enhanced interrogation techniques used against captured terrorists released, it became clear, at least to me, that the very purpose of the action was to test the national waters, to gage the interest of the American people for possible investigations against President Bush and his Administration.
It also became obvious that the techniques depicted in the de-classified memos were off the CIA list of usable techniques in the future, as the information given surely made its way to the al Qaeda’s operatives and counter training initiated.
At the time of the documents release, former VP Dick Cheney urged the White House to also de-classify and release CIA documents that prove the use of those so-called “tortures” netted information that voided further attacks against the US and saved countless innocent lives.

Riding the wave of delirious happiness coming from the Left nutcases, who could almost taste Cheney and Bush’s blood, Obama hinted his intention of de-classifying and making public hundreds of photos that allegedly proved abuse interrogators perpetrated on some of the poor murderous detainees.
My consternation regarding the release of the memos and the possibility of another circus the like of the one put together by Ted Kennedy and Dick Durbin with the Abu Ghraib pictures, became even more pronounced as the news of the release of more anti-American pictures made its way in the news cycle. The message from the White House was that they were going to cave in the demands of the ACLU who invoked the Freedom of Information Act to have the photos released. On a side note, this new offensive from the ACLU against the United States is just another step the group is making toward the complete destruction of our country and the current political so-called leadership in Washington is in bed with them and goose-stepping in unison on the same path toward Socialist totalitarian regime.

The issue of the photographs was just the latest of the dismantling of the security achievements accomplished by a hastily rebuilt intelligence effort following the 9-11-01 attacks. Obama started the process just hours after taking office by issuing an executive order that would close Guantanamo Bay prison in 2010 and the halting of all military tribunals taking place at that facility. Further rumors of the release of some of the terrorists on American soil and the refusal on the part of other nations to take in any of the detainees, demonstrated that Obama had just acted to ingratiate his Leftist nutcases and really had no plans for the handling of the Guantanamo’s prisoners.

Now, in the space of few days, Obama has sort of reversed his course of action, or so it appears. First he expressed his decision to avoid the release of the pictures, citing the potential danger that such action would represent for the American Military still involved in combat overseas. True Americans across the country cheered the decision, happy that for once the current Commander in Chief appeared to place the interests of the Military ahead of his own agenda. I want to emphasize ‘appeared’ as I actually thought so too. The dark part of this whole story is in the fact that Obama verbally expressed his decision to not release the photos, but the law suit from the ACLU is still pending and the only thing that can just stop the process would be another executive order from the President.

So here is where the issue of the photos stands: some judge can still order the CIA to release the photos as per the ACLU request, and the fact that Obama said he opposed it will mean nothing, except to Obama, who will then be able to state that the negative consequences on our soldiers in the field of making the photos public were not his fault and dump the responsibility on some judge. Those Americans who cheered but remain uninformed will be tricked by the complacent Media to actually believe the line and still cheer for the man.

This whole thing is some sort of a tragic joke for me, as I witness a President completely out of his league, only concerned about his political image. His incompetence as a problem solver shows its ugly head every time he opens his mouth, even if in a teleprompter-driven, articulated way. Some may say he has a hell of a nice way to say nothing.

In a latest development, Obama has declared his intentions to re-start the Military tribunals he had halted in January. The amusing part of all this is the frenzy the lunatic Left is going through these days (just that makes it all worth), even if AG Holder has said that the tribunals will be conducted in a way that enhances the safeguard of the terrorists legal rights, including the dismissal of evidences obtained via enhanced interrogations. It is amazing to me how an Administration that is so bent on ignoring the US Constitution is going to go to great length to give Constitutional rights to the enemies of the country.

I guess experience as a community organizer falls a little short when it comes to handling a REAL job or a REAL crisis. Hope and Change? I am praying for it in 2010 and 2012.

And these are my thoughts!
