Taking A Beating

I resisted for sometime the urge to comment on the Miss California controversy sparked by Carrie Prejean’s comments on gay marriage and basically waited for the hoopla to diminish before posting. She made the comment in question at the Miss America competition in April when asked by that vile human being Perez Hilton. In her response to her opinion regarding the gay marriage controversy, Ms. Prejean stated her believe in marriage being between a man and a woman, opinion based on her personal faith and upbringing.
I personally do not follow this type of competitions as I am not a big fun of them, so my view is based on the aftermath of the statement.
In this aftermath, she was slammed by the gay Hilton in his blog with the use of personal invectives and attacks.
Ms. Prejean’s fate as a Beauty Pageant competitor was decided by the Miss America organization with Donald Trump having the final say regarding Carrie keeping her title or not. Trump decided she would and was ailed as a “hero” by supporters and reviled by the opposition. Although I agree with the final decision Trump made, I surely would not call him a hero (it is really disturbing to me the abuse of the word, as I have a totally different set of standards to label someone a hero, but I digress).

My thought is not regarding the competition itself, but on the repercussions Ms. Prejean had to suffer due to the fact that she expressed her personal believe when asked.
The young San Diego woman has been literally devastated by a relentless Media in disagreement with her opinion, due to personal conviction or political correctness lunacy. She has basically been savaged for exercising her Constitutionally given First Amendment right, and, ironically, from the portion of our society that benefits and abuses the very same right.

To make things even worst, the Media went on an all out attack mode digging up as much dirt on the young woman until they found the pictures she had taken some years back. These pictures are sexy, but in no way pornographic. She has been trying to get into modeling and she had agreed to take them. I am not excusing her decision to have those photos taken, but I believe that if the Media would have used the same diligence in their search for dirt on the other contestants, many of them would also have to be disqualified. This tells me that the Media dirt digging was motivated by pro-gay agenda.

So as the United States Constitution takes a beating by scum the like of Perez Hilton and his cohorts and by the politically correct Media always looking for the chance to slam conservative beliefs and Christianity followers, the garbage doing the persecution is the same garbage that hides behind the very same Constitution, in the same fashion of the Islamic terrorists hiding among innocent civilians as they conduct their murderous acts.
Making matters even worst, those screaming for tolerance and equality for gays and lesbians and whatever else, are the same that are totally intolerant of the right of others who may disagree and are ready to destroy them to further their agenda.
As I understand, Ms. Prejean lost the pageant because of the fact that she expressed her view. I hope someone can explain to me how that is different from a gay man not getting a job because of his sexual orientation. Is it that if the discrimination serves our agenda it is no longer discrimination? Has America become that hypocritical?

The sexual orientation of others is, in my opinion, none of my business. Because of my religious beliefs, I agree with Carrie about marriage and I wish that the specific term would just be left alone. Similarly, I also believe that same gender couples in committed relationships should be allowed to have all the civil rights that married couples have (i.e. visitation, property inheritance etc.), I just wish they would not call it marriage. Maybe I am looking at the semantic of the word in a simple way, but a choice of another term may be a quick and painless solution for all involved in this issue.

My problem with the ordeal of Ms. Prejean is exclusively based on the negation of her Constitutional rights. She is being singled out and persecuted for exercising that right. Political correctness has already being undermining the United States for years, and the power grab done by the Liberals in the last two elections has created a political class that supports the overturning of the Constitution. I heard a State of Oklahoma legislator, of which I cannot remember the name, making a statement to the effect that ignoring the Constitution renders that document irrelevant. And personally, I am not ready yet to see that document become irrelevant.

And these are my thoughts!
