Pillaging - Part 3

So far I have commented on two programs, which the National Institute of Health calls researches, which are being paid for by the American taxpayers. The first was a $400,000 study of gay men in Argentina (see Pillaging) and the second was a $2.6 millions study of the drinking pattern of Chinese prostitutes (see Pillaging – Part 2).

Now is time for Part 3.
The organization called Citizen Against Government Waste has commented on a $178,000 study of prostitutes in Thailand and why their drug abuse is increasing the risk of contraction of HIV. The study covered 60 subjects, 36 women and 24 so-called kathoe who are transgender prostitutes who happen to run an especially high risk of infection.

Now, as much as the $29 billions the National Institute of Health spends yearly on health related research may be considered a good way to spend taxpayers’ money due to the knowledge that some of these researches have gained, it is hard for me to grasp the relevance that studying Thai transgender, drug addicted prostitutes, and Thai prostitutes in general, could have on the health knowledge of the American people.

Now before the accusations of being a heartless American Conservative start flying, I only want to point out that in a time when many people are unemployed and are going through some very challenging financial times, it just appears to me that my tax money could be spent in a much more constructive way to help other fellow Americans.
It just does not make sense to feed the stranger outside my door if my own child is starving to death.
Nothing against the Argentine drunken gays or the Chinese drunken prostitutes or the Thai drug addicts, and maybe you will call me arrogant and nationalist, but the over $3.2 millions that we paid just for these three researches could have been, in my opinion, be better spent in maybe helping some of our own folks.
It is really infuriating for me to have to listen to countless stories of people sick with diseases for which there is no cure because there is not enough money for research. How about utilizing this money to concentrate on diseases like cancer and lupus and similar research here in the United States? Any kind of advancement ever accomplished in America has become beneficial to the rest of the globe anyway. To me it feels really unappealing to see all the fundraising done for breast cancer and similar ailments while the government wastes our money in research that does not appear that relevant. What instead looks like to me is that there are a lot of perverts in the NIH who are using our money to “study” certain perverted life styles while getting a vacation at the same time.
Maybe if pieces of news like the one I just wrote about would not appear, maybe if the people running these governmental institutes would actually employee some integrity, more money would be going to the relevant research and even more people would be inclined to donate.

We shall see if the Pillaging is going to have to become a series. My hunch is that we will have quite a series due to the total lack of trust I have been forced into by the criminals in Congress these days. We shall see.

And these are my thoughts!
