Time To Demand Some Answers

By Semperpapa

While the country is riveted on the drama surrounding the decision of Charlie Christ to run for the Senate as an independent, thrashing the Republican Party and trying to get in bed with Rahm Emanuel, and the vicious attacks against Arizona because of the illegal immigration bill, the American people have been kept almost in the dark on some foreign policy issues that the powers to be are working hard to keep hidden.

These issues are regarding Iran and the United Nations, two of the most vicious and determined enemies of America, and great allies of Obama.

Let me start with the United Nation.

The UN has announced, in the most obscure and covert way possible, that Iran has joined the UN Commission on the Status of Women, a commission that is tasked with the safeguarding of gender equality in the world. Digest that, I’ll wait… Yup!
So the thugs from Teheran are going to have the right to express their opinion on the treatment of women. The appointment came by acclamation, meaning that no other country presented any opposition nor requested a vote on it. This means also the United States.

Obviously, our government must be so busy insuring that the TEA Party demonstrations are closely monitored by riot police, that they did not have the time to mount the common sensical opposition to an appointment that defies any appearance of decency.

Here we have a theocratic regime who institutionally incarcerate, rapes and kills women for any kind of minor infraction of some religious code; a regime that killed its own citizens like in the famous case of Neda who millions of people saw bleeding to death on the streets of Teheran; a regime that blames women dress preferences for earthquakes; and a regime that is threatening women with imprisonment if they show that they have a tan.
And these 7th century lunatics are appointed to an international commission dedicated to women’s rights? Is that the Twilight Zone music I hear?
And what about the feminist groups in America? Where is the outrage? Oh, I forgot that the only agenda of those so called women’s organization is to keep legal the use of abortion as a birth control device.

But the most revolting part of all this is the lack of action on the part of the United States government. Where the hell was the Susan Rice? Where the hell was Clinton? And where the hell was Obama? And these are the people handling foreign policy and our National security?

I was truly incensed by what I read, forming connotations of incompetence in my mind of the entire circus of characters from the White House to State to the UN.
But then I read another article that sort of made sense of the whole thing.

According to a Washington Times article by Eli Lake, the White House has been requesting Congress, more like putting a lot of pressure on the lawmakers, to insert “exemptions” in the proposed sanctions against Iran, for companies based in “cooperating countries”.

What this really means is that Obama wants to dilute the sanctions against the terrorist regime in Teheran by offering a pass to companies to conduct business with the Iranians if they are based in countries, read Russia and China, which are cooperating with the US.
In other words, Obama is willing to remove the teeth out of the only tool he is using to put pressure on Ahmedinejad on the nuclear weapons development.
By exempting companies in Russia and China from seizing doing business with Teheran, Obama is attempting to lure the two counties into not vetoing the resolution at the United Nations. That would allow Obama to claim to the world that he accomplished a unanimous vote at the UN for a measure that will have absolutely no relevance.
The main need for Iran is gasoline, for both financial and political reasons. For a country to be a major exporter of crude, its financial coffers should be bulging with cash as they are the major exporters of oil to Europe and Asia. But having to force gasoline rationing on its people because of its lack of refining capabilities, the theocracy is also fomenting a lot of malcontent within its borders.
The companies Obama want to give exemption are those that provide refined oil products back to the Iranian regime and are based in Russia and China, so for the Ayatollahs any kind of resolution containing such exemptions would mean absolutely nothing. And that would also be the case for those companies that continue to provide nuclear energy technology.

So there we have it. This appears to be just another game that Obama is playing right in the face of the American people and about the security of our country. Appeasing our enemies has become the favorite pastime of this disgrace of a President, as he allowed the travesty of having Iran on a women’s right commission at the UN in exchange for the possible support on the part of Russia and China, of a UN resolution that will be just the next waste of time and money.
And all the while, our enemies are growing in power and boldness in their demands and pursuits.

Today I heard some rumors about Iranian Revolutionary Guards elements present in Venezuela. I am researching the issue and will write about it when I learn more. Meanwhile, we still are hearing arguments against securing our southern border!

I think it’s time to demand some specific answers from our leaders!

How Much Is Enough

By Semperpapa

And that is the way it is going to be. Referring to Wall Street, President Obama said:

"Now, what we’re doing, I want to be clear, we’re not trying to push
financial reform because we begrudge success that's fairly earned. I mean, I do
think at a certain point you've made enough money."

In the spirit of the freedoms our Founders fought for, and countless Americans paid with their lives for, and those carrying the scars of war, the President is explaining his “vision” for America aver and over again.
He, and his liberal progressive minions, feel they are the harbingers of every aspect of the American people’s lives. And the sad, disheartening part is that many Americans do not see anything wrong with this approach.

Redistribution of wealth, cap on wealth accumulation appears to be an accepted policy on the part of those Americans who are comfortable with a totalitarian regime that targets someone else.
As long as these policies are reserved to the “rich”, they are all in favor. The progressive movement has succeeded in brainwashing the ignorant masses of followers into believing that accumulation of wealth is evil and deserving of destruction. And this view is not just reserved for those who accomplish comfortable living due to illegal, criminal actions (which would include just about every politician in power), but also for those who achieve financial wealth due to hard work.
In fact, the means by which a business owner or corporation has been successful does not even enter the topic of discussion: if it is successful, must be crooked!

But where does it stop? Would the engineer be happy with the government placing a cap on his or her salary? Would the nurse or the factory worker or truck driver? My guess is that every member of the work force would be put off by a limit imposed by the politicians on what compensation he/she receives. Such arbitrary limitations would nullify any motivation to improve one’s performance in the hope for a higher retribution.
My guess is that almost every member of the work force would not be too happy with such governmental control, and yet many are all in favor to allow the government to do just that on CEOs and Doctors and Business owners.

De-motivating employees by regulating compensation creates a work force that has no incentive in improvement, eliminating creativity and innovation, which have been the greatest differences between the United States and the rest of the world. Eliminate incentive and what you have is a Communist regime.

Just my thoughts.

Supporting Arizona

By Semperpapa

We are all aware of the anti illegal immigration bill that was passed in Arizona (if you are not, I hope your coma is temporary), and we are all aware of the vitriol that the measure has given birth to in just about every liberal/progressive crevice of the lunatic Left and the Anarchist movement.

Besides being in total support of the Arizona bill, I am taking note of some of the most outrageous examples of unhinged behavior that is being so well publicized by the MSM.
The protests taking place on the streets in Arizona were predictable, as was the hoodlums with the Mexican flag marching and chanting on American soil, in the always amusing belief that flying a foreign flag furthers their cause.
Even the intrusion of the merchants of the new slavery Al Sharpton and Jessi Jackson was predictable, as it was the misguided words of Obama, who never misses an opportunity to denigrate the American people.

Added to the fray is the amusing boycott that the city of San Francisco is calling against Arizona. That city mayor, the infamous Gavin Newsom, has suspended all non-essential travel of city employees to the southern state, while the city council is taking steps for the imposition of economic boycott, meaning the possible suspension of existing contracts and ban on new ones.

While the liberal progressives running rampant in SF are obviously ecstatic about their city leaders hasty move, those in the hospitality industry who rely so much on the type of business Newsom wants to boycott, are naturally nervous about the move, as it may have crippling effects on their businesses. Newsom has created a commission, the Arizona Boycott Workgroup, charged with analyzing the backlash the boycotting of Arizona could generate.
It is only obvious that there would be retaliation on the part of Arizona officials, and surely the whacko in SF will be incensed by it, because only their actions are justified and pure.

On line web sites are urging sport agencies like NBA and NFL to also boycott Arizona, while businesses based in that state, like U-Haul and PetSmart are also being targeted.
Considering that the Arizona Governor got a 16% boost in her constituency’s favorability after signing the bill, these businesses can forecast a good increase in revenue.

Interestingly, many of the so-called “sanctuary cities”, where illegal immigrants are officially welcomed, are not pushing each other out of the way in welcoming the over 400,000 illegal immigrants currently estimated to live in Arizona. One would think that Fort Worth, Texas or Albuquerque, New Mexico or San Francisco itself would be rushing to the aid of the poor illegals by exhorting them to migrate to their areas.
The truth, which is like sprinkling Holy Water on the devil, is that the leadership of these cities and states do not want these people, as they already are aware of the strain they cause any social structure. When asked, the liberal roaches just scatter away.

In an even more amusing move, the Mexican government has issue travel warnings for its citizens for Arizona. That, in my opinion, should have been done, and heeded, before the 440,000 illegals “traveled” to Arizona.
I also find very interesting that the travel warning is coming from a government which practically is under siege from drug cartels, where scores of people are being killed every day.

What I do not find amusing, though, is complete ignorance of the law on the part of the people and, most of all, of elected politicians from the President on down.
But in the current climate of unconstitutionality, I guess this is just another factor to be taken into consideration in November.

A Real Smelly Situation

By Semperpapa
(Warning! Graphic Language)

It was one of those forgettable Senate hearings today, as Michigan Senator Carl Levin went on a rampage against the former Goldman & Sacks head of the mortgage department David Sparks.
Not being one that blushes easily, it actually happened once in 1976, at the sound of foul language, I still feel that the display put on by the senator was a real downer.

The good old career politician from Michiganistan used the word “shitty”, by some accounts, a whooping 11 times while describing the operational conduct of business that the Wall Street Company had engaged in.
Far from being an apologist for Goldman & Sacks, I would have gotten a real kick if Mr. Sparks would have turned around and told Levin that considering to the crap sandwich the senator and all his colleagues in Congress have been feeding the American people, the level of hypocrisy was the real “shitty” part of the whole discussion.

And in reality, that is the whole point of this rant. I personally was not offended by the nasty language of Carl Levin, but mostly by the incredible level of hypocrisy demonstrated by Levin and the other corrupted criminals who walk around the halls of MY Congress.
The man from Wall Street was chastised by a member of a political body that has done everything possible, and even impossible and unethical, to create the perfect conditions for the bad business behavior.

What is shitty is the personal dealings that Obama has done with, remember anyone?, Tony Rezko in Chicago in real estate.

Shitty is Michelle Obama tripling her salary as an administrator for a Chicago hospital the day Obama became senator, only to leave the position when he entered the presidential race. Her position, with the more than $300,000 yearly salary, was so valuable that she was never replaced.

Shitty is the extortion perpetrated by Sen. Dodd and Rep. Frank upon lending institutions to give loans to people who could never repay them, by misleading everyone about the conditions of Freddy Mack and Sally Mae, all for the purpose of running some sort of social engineering pet project that in the long run proved to be disastrous for millions of people.

What I find shitty is the Marxist-style take over of private industries on the part of the government and the imposition of undue burdens on small businesses resulting in the level of unemployment we are experiencing.

Shitty was Obama taking months before deciding to give Gen. McChrystal the troops he had asked for to handle the war in Afghanistan, and when he finally made the decision, he only gave a portion of the request and stated a withdrawal timeline. Shitty are the lives of our Military that were lost while the President was busy going on nightly television shows and traveling to Europe for the Olympics.

The list of “shitty” could go on for some time. In reality it appears that there is a lot of smelly defecation in Washington D.C. these days, crap that the elitists are force feeding the American people. Some of us have become so apathetic that we do not even pay attention to any of this until it touches us personally in our pockets; some of us are so happy that we can rest our fate in the hands of the government, absolving us from any need to actually having to take responsibility for our own actions, always happy for handouts and for redistribution of other people money; and than there are some of us who literally foam at the mouth in frustration at the garbage we are witnessing coming from the politicians in power, praying that the damage done by this totally unhinged President and Congress can be reversed when some real American Patriots sweep the elections in November.

My cry remains the same: Fire Them All! And I mean both Republican and Democrats and put in their places new blood with the clear understanding that if they do not act in the best interest of our country, they will swiftly be fired too.

Just my shitty thoughts!

The Left New Target

By Semperpapa

Having been disillusioned by professional athletes with their over confidence in bad behavior, and by the pass they receive from the Media because of their celebrity status and their commercial value, it is unusual that I take any interest in a sport figure. But every rule has an exception, and this is it for me.

Over last weekend, the NFL had their draft and Tim Tebow was picked up by the Denver Broncos. So far so good, considering that the young University of Florida player is a Heisman Trophy winner and definitely a very good player.
But Tim Tebow has flaws that are enraging many sport commentators: he is white, he is a Christian and he is alive.

Most people, even those who do not follow professional football, probably remember the big controversy that the Left/Feminist domestic terror groups sparked just before the Super Bowl last February. The controversy was directed at a commercial that was going to show during the game, in which Tim’s mother spoke of her decision not to abort Tim even if her pregnancy could have been dangerous for her health.
Well the feministas went ballistic on that notion, demanding CBS to refuse the broadcast of the commercial. Why? Because, according to their single minded and single digit IQ, it was anti-abortion and anti-women. Funny thing that these morons protesting the ad had not seen it yet, so they could not, intelligently, have an opinion.

The controversy continued until the game, with the management of CBS stating that their review of the commercial determined no controversy in it. Ultimately the commercial was anti-climactic, because it only showed a mother who spoke about having made a very personal decision and today, looking at her son and his accomplishments, is very happy to have done so. There was no controversy in the ad. But the feministas could not just go away licking their wounds, they had to continue the assault on Tim Tebow, so when another commercial was aired showing Tim tackling his mom, an obvious attempt at humor, the vagina kooks got all incensed, claiming that it encouraged domestic violence. These moronic idiots will stop at nothing!

But Tim Tebow was already in the crosshair of the fringe Left, already a target of the hatred of progressives, because he had the audacity of being a Christian, of not hiding it and to paint Bible verses on his face before every game. How disgusting!

So to recap so far, Tebow has been attacked for being a Christian, and for being alive.
The latest is coming from some obscure sport radio personality at a station in Boston.
This “gentleman” is Fred Toettcher who decided to gift humanity with this jewel of commentary.
In talking about the NFL draft party Tim Tebow participate in after the Broncos had drafted him, Toettcher said:

“It looked like some kind of Nazi rally. . . . So lily-white is what I’m
trying to say. Yeah, Stepford Wives.”

So it appears that this pinnacle of moronity in Boston was dissatisfied by the color of the skin of the people at Tebow’s party.
Considering the ruckus that the Media usually makes when they play “gotcha!” with public personalities regarding racial remarks (wasn’t it Don Imus to be fired and attacked and tarred and feathered for some stupid comment he made on some black basketball players, not to mention having to deal with Al Sharpton!), I would expect Toettcher to suffer some repercussion for his idiotic statement, but I am not holding my breath.

Wonder what would happen if a local radio person would make a comment about one of those award programs on BET by saying that it looks like a gang banger festival. How fast would good Al and Jessi be there extorting money from the station and the individual?

But that is the way liberal/progressives get things done by going after the person they are bound to destroy via character assassination. May it be Joe the Plummer or Sarah Palin or Tim Tebow, and as soon as their organized thugs will be in big enough number, it will be you and I. That’s how Stalin and Hitler did it, Castro has done it and how Chavez is doing it.

The only way we can combat such tactic is by inflicting greater damage on our enemy. And if you don’t believe these people are our enemies, might as well live on the Moon.

Just my thoughts!

Obama's Chicago

By Semperpapa

Chicago, Illinois. Obama's city, the place where Obama honed his political "skills" and where he made a name for himself as a community activist, which "prepared" him for holding the highest position in the country and the world.

But the failures that Obama is experiencing as a President are not a great surprise for many of us who were paying attention in 2008 and completely mirror his failures in the Windy City.

Today Chicago is under a violent siege, with a wooping 113 homicides since January 1st, 2010, the same number of soldiers the United States has lost in Iraq and Afghanistan combined, for the same time period.
What these statistics tell us is that Chicago is as dangerous a place as two war zones our Military is involved in, combined.

Two politicians have requested Gov. Pat Quinn to deploy the Illinois National Guard in the city to attempt to quell the violence, which in just one day last week saw the killing of seven people.

But how could this be? How can it be that Obama's city, the city of total gun control, the city of queen Oprah and Mayor Randell, is so devastated by such a level of crime that politicians are requesting the intevention of the National Guard? What happen to the utopic panacea of peace and prosperity Liberals are promising to the people in Chicago in return for their votes?

The truth is that the policies of liberal progressives are the same policies that fuel such criminal activities. The defeat of personal responsibility liberals champion has created a whole community of thugs and criminals who, even if caught, are afforded more rights than their victims.

Personally, I hope the the attempt to mobilize the National Guard for crime control in Chicago is rejected, for the same reason why Police Superintendent Jody Weis is reluctant to sign on, and that is that the NG has a different approach to law enforcement that city cops have and re-training would be too long and too expensive.
while civilian cops are trained to treat criminals with all kind of politically correct measures, soldiers, especially those who are Veterans of deployment to real combat zones like Iraq and Afghanistan, are trained for combat.
So unless the NG are allowed to treat criminals like enemy combatant, they should not be running the risk of some Obama style community activist coming up with some accusation of unreasonable use of force that would have unfair criminal and civil consequences for the soldiers.

My thoughts go to the families of the innocent people of Chicago caught in the crossfire, as it goes to those who have no choice but live there. On the other hand, they are the ones that have elected an maintained liberal loosers in power.
In the immortal words of Rev. Wright, although in a much more subdue way, "the chickens have come to roost"

Words From A Veteran

By Semperpapa

I received the following in an e-mail from a Marine Veteran I call my brother (thanks Butch). It is pretty much a summation of what is wrong with our system these days.

My name is d'Lynn. I'm a disabled Vietnam vet. I don't look too bad for a beat-up old fart, do I?

And that's my ride. She's looking pretty good looking also, especially when you consider that she'll turn twenty this summer. That's right, it's a 1990 with a 1990 sidecar.

I can't ride a solo bike, ergo the sidecar rig.

It's my sole means of transportation - rain or shine, snow or wind, and this summer also marks a milestone in both of our lives, as I will finally be able to pay her off. Twenty years old? What?

Why did it take so long? You weren't paying attention, were you? It's right at the beginning of this paragraph. I am a disabled vet, which means I receive a veterans administration disability pension, which also means "I'm broke!"

Just one step ahead of being homeless every month, and that's not an idle statement or an"Oh, whoa is me" dire complaint.

There’s a point to this, so hang in there a minute or two and read on.

There's a 25-year-old illegal immigrant woman living in Florida , with eight kids. Yes, eight "anchor babies" and she receives just shy of $1,500 per month per kid, plus medical, plus food stamps. Oh, wait. I've been informed that I shouldn't call them Food Stamps anymore. That's not PC. It's all called “Social Assistance” now. You do the math on that yourself. I'd say that she was schooled early in how to make it in the system. Twenty-five years old, eight kids . . . . . yep, she started early.

You can whip out the calculator if you want, but this women who never has paid a dime in taxes of any kind, (and still doesn't – she's 'illegal,' remember?) is here in this country illegally. She hasn’t paid one one cent in medical for all the “anchor babies,” makes more in one month, legally, than I receive in over a year and a half in disability payments and I can't even get food stamps!
Oops, I mean “Social Assistance.”

Technically I am eligible for “Social Assistance.” I was told it would be a walk through – a gimme – being disabled. No problem, and in the very next breath I was also informed that under the law the amount I received in “Social Assistance” would be deducted from my disability pension. Let's say I take a great photograph. It was just luck, a one of a kind accidental, in the right place at the right time shot. My local newspaper offers me fifty bucks to use the photo in a featured story. (I live in a small town and fifty bucks is all they could afford.) I have to report that fifty dollars to the VA as earned income, which will immediately be deducted from my next month’s disability check. If I don't report it I’m in violation of federal law and technically they can stop my disability pension and prosecute me under a federal felony. Pretty cool, eh? For fifty bucks.

I see no point in dealing with two federal bureaucracies, so I don't bother.

What's the point? She's here illegally and with just one kid would make over twice what I receive per month. She has eight and she’s not a stand-out case. She’s not alone. That's the way the system works. Millions of illegal immigrants know this, know how the system works and know how to use it. (Haven't you seen the pamphlet? It's handed out all along our borders, "The Illegal Immigrants' Guide to Keeping America Just The Way It Is.") and that's just the way it works.Did you know that the federal government provides a “refugee” in this country with a monthly “stipend” of $1,890, plus $580 a month in “Social Assistance?” That’s $2,470 a month, tax-free. That's two and a half times what I’m allowed to receive as a disabled vet. And just what did they do to earn this? All you have to do is show up on our collective doorstep, raise your right hand and swear that you're a refugee and, bingo, receive $30,000 a year, tax-free.

That's more than someone making $15 an hour, and they have to pay taxes to boot! Now, in defense of the Veterans Administration, they are doing what they can with what they've got.

This is precious little compared to what they should have to get the job done. At least this country has a VA.

It's the Senate that keeps passing laws, rules and guidelines, cutting their budget, denying requests for more staff and computer systems to handle the massive work flow. Their hands are tied by the very government that's supposed to give them what they need to get the job done, by the government you voted into office. Don't scream at the VA. I have. It's misguided anger. The point to this “story?” Just why are you paying such high taxes to support this incredibly screwed-up government? Why? And I’m not proposing you stop paying your taxes. That's wrong. There are good programs and reasons to pay your taxes and support our government. What am I proposing? It's quite simple. Vote. The government, our government, is broken and we as the voters serve as the maintenance crew. We fix it . . . . . by voting. If your state Senator has been in office more then two terms, vote 'em out at the next election. If your state representative has been in office more then two terms, vote 'em out of office. We put term limits on just about every publicly-elected official in the country except the House and Senate. Why? Believe me, they know this and love it! Ahhh - the power!I don't care how much you believe your Senator or Representative is doing a good job.

They're not! Look at the government you have, that we have. How can you state they are doing what you want as the voter that put them there? How?Vote them out of office. Do it. Change the course of this country's history by what you are granted and guaranteed under the law. Vote!

And if you have the guts, the anger, the outrage, start a petition in your state for a state-wide initiative to be placed on your next state ballot. Limiting the terms of office for your state senators and state representatives to your federal government to two terms. The federal government will never pass such a law, but you can. You can get it done. You can force it. You can make it a law. This is the first step in “getting it right.” Just vote. It's simple. It's easy, dammit! This first step will send a very clear message. It’ll work. It’ill put “us” back in control of “them.” As it should be. As it was intended in the first place. Are you an American? Born and raised? Then vote!Side note: I sent this e-mail to a little over one hundred on my e-mail list. If you believe I’m wrong or misguided or you simply don't agree, that's fine. Go right ahead a delete this e-mail. No problem. Sorry to have bothered you. But if you think I just might have a worthwhile idea, something we can easily accomplish, something that could be a small part at getting this country back under “our” control, then please pass this along.

There is not much that can be added to the words of d'Lynn, is there? He has expressed the frustration many of us have with the so called career politicians, who will do everything in their power, and things that are not, to maintain their elitist position of control. They really don't care much for you, me or d'Lynn; all they really care is to remain in power, control the people and profit by the corrupted dealings they are offered by the special interests.
And, by the way, d'Lynn's story is not unique! Please feel free to spread this as much as possible, for our battle cry for November should be "FIRE THEM ALL!!!"
Adoramus Patria!
And these are the thoughts of many!

Illegal Immigration Battle

By Semperpapa

This is really great!
After decades worth of inaction on the part of the federal government on illegal immigration, after countless crimes perpetrated by illegal immigrants upon United States citizens, the state legislature of one of the states most affected by the federal ineptitude decides to take care of its own and pass a tough anti-illegal immigration law. And all hell breaks loose.
That was the case on Monday in Arizona, where a bill was passed that would allow Law Enforcement to question anyone about their legal status if reasonable suspicion is present. The bill also makes illegal immigration a crime under state law (which confuses me as I thought it was already “illegal”).
AZ Gov, Jan Brewer signed the bill into law on Friday.

Hundreds of people protested the measure, with some violence against the police. The usual suspects, Christian organizations, promised a court battle. Authorities in Mexico have declared that the measure will “change” relations across the border. And Obama is really angry.

Here are my thoughts.

In the first place, the protesters, once the bill was signed, should have been questioned by the police about their residence status. I am convinced that many of them could be on their way back to Mexico as I am writing.
From Fox News.

"It's going to change our lives," said Emilio Almodovar, a 13-year-old American citizen from Phoenix. "We can't walk to school any more. We can't be in the streets anymore without the pigs thinking we're illegal immigrants."

Isn’t this great? A 13-year old calling cops “pigs” always makes me tear up with pride! But I would like to know why this kid was not in school anyway.

The so-called Christian organizations need to be reminded that the rule of law in the United States is still there. Just the fact that these illegals are a considerable source of revenue for the churches with their donations does not mean that the law can be just ignored.
I am expecting any moment the Catholic Church to come out with some of its famous condemnations, maybe the criminal Cardinal Mahoney of Los Angeles will make some token pilgrimage to Arizona.

Now for the Mexican authorities. Does it really make any difference what the Mexican authorities feel about the legislative decisions of the state of Arizona? It seems to me that the political correctness associated with this issue has gotten completely out of control. Moreover, I would like to remind the Mexican government that they should probably concentrate on their internal problems, which are very serious, before meddling in the internal affairs of our country.

Which brings me to Obama. Our illustrious President called the Arizona bill “misguided”. He has instructed his Dept. of Justice, meaning that champion of the New American Justice called Eric Holder, to look into the legality of the bill. Does anyone want to bet on the outcome of Holder “investigation”? Yup, didn’t think so!
But in the spirit of never letting a crisis go to waste, Obama uses the situation in Arizona to demand action on the part of the federal government on “immigration reform” (AKA amnesty).
If that is not accomplished, Obama warns, it will leave the door open to “irresponsibility by others” meaning the legal citizens of Arizona.

Obama further commented:
"That includes, for example, the recent efforts in Arizona, which threaten to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans, as well as the trust between police and their communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe,"

So the American people can expect the progressive crowd in Washington to start pushing the already mobilizing issue of illegal immigration into high gear, because, after all, that may be the only chance they may have to remain in power after the November elections.
A sweeping amnesty for illegals on the part of the federal government will mean the addition of millions of votes to those who championed the cause.

What is not understood is that the problem of illegal immigration has plagued states like Arizona for many years now. The lack of action on the part of Washington has been very costly for the American economy and for American safety and security. The porous border has brought into our Nation not just people in search of a better life for themselves and their families, but also uncounted criminals and terrorists.
The same issue has been a thorn in the side of every state at the border with Mexico and has expanded exponentially to all the other states of the union.

I am expecting that the DoJ will move very swiftly on declaring the Arizona bill a violation of civil rights, as the expedience of that finding will be needed by Obama and his clowns to avoid possible follow suit of other states, New Mexico and Texas, to implement similar legislation.
(Side note: I purposely left California out because our state legislature has been in bed with the illegal immigrants activists for ever.)

My hat is off to the people of Arizona. As an immigrant I fully understand the motivation of people wanting to come to the US, all I am saying is that it should be done legally.

Just my thoughts!

2nd Amendment, California Style

By Semperpapa

Here in the land of leftist perdition, California, the attacks upon the constitutional liberties of the people has been going on for years now, thanks to the stronghold Democrats/Liberal/Progressives have been maintaining of the state legislature.
None of the Constitutional Amendments has been as trampled over by the hippies running the show in Sacramento than the Second Amendment.

The US Supreme Court is in the process to hear the case related to the freedom of the states to adopt firearm legislation designed to limit or eliminate the constitutionally guaranteed right as expressed by the Constitution.

So while the 2nd Amendment is coming again under scrutiny by the highest court of the land, in California there are some people who are willing to take on the American people and the NRA.

A little background. Since the issue of the 2nd Amendment has been receiving new attention as the SCOTUS is getting ready to hear the cases of Chicago and Washington DC, some pro-gun groups have been trying to bring attention to the right we have to own and bear arms by taking up the so called “open carry” issue. Basically open carry is the wearing of an unloaded firearm in plain view. The proponents of this practice have staged demonstrations to bring the attention of the people to the issue of law abiding citizens having the right to own and carry firearms.

All the demonstrations held have been nothing but orderly and polite, consisting in few people gathering at coffee shops or restaurants. The organizers would contact local law enforcement about their intentions, so that the local cops would know the reason for all those civilians sporting side arms out in the open.
One of such demonstration was held on a San Diego, California beach, where about 60 people wearing open carry side arms went on the boardwalk. Local police received some calls from concerned citizens who stated to be “concerned” by all those armed people. Cops responded and after insuring that the open carries were all legal (no chambered rounds in the weapons) they just went on their way.
The peaceful, orderly and polite solution of the situation should have been enough, as the demonstrators were 100% within their constitutional rights to be there, but it was not.

It appears that a local politician got wind of what had happened and decided that it was her duty to come up with her own anti-Constitution battle.
The politician is a Democrat, of course, assemblywoman from San Diego named Lori Seldana. She took it upon herself to propose a ban on open carry for California.
Here are some exerts from Seldana’s press release she sent to the San Diego Gay & Lesbian News:

People should be free from the fear and the potential for violence firearms represent. A parent pushing a stroller shouldn’t have to determine whether the motives of a person carrying a handgun are dangerous or not or whether the gun is loaded or not.

And:

These displays of firearms can create potentially dangerous situations. If peace officers respond to a call about a person with a gun, and the armed person then behaves in a way that is perceived as threatening, the officers may be forced to respond in a way that proves deadly.

I believe that responsible gun ownership has a place in our communities, including hunting, sportsmanship and an individual’s right to protect their home. But guns are an intimidating and potentially dangerous presence in public. There is an imbalance
of power that can be frightening for people just spending time with their families.

Well, here are my thoughts on Ms. Seldana statement.

I agree that people should be free from the fear and the potential for violence, but personally it is not the presence of firearms that may prevent that, but more likely the person in possession of the firearm. A group of gang bangers walking around with semi-auto pistols in their falling waistbands and harassing people should create a sense of uneasiness in anyone unfortunate enough to be there.
On the other hand, a group of normal looking citizens with firearms properly and safely stored in holsters and just walking around not harassing anyone, should not be a source of concern.

In the case of the beach demonstration, law enforcement was aware of the situation, but responded to the complaint anyway, as they are supposed to. In any other instance, it becomes common sense that if a police officer would approach someone with a firearm in plain view, that person should be very aware of the situation and do nothing to instill reason for concern in the officer. Just common sense (uncommon for liberals).
If the person behaves in a threatening manner, he/she is responsible for the consequences, not the police officer or the gun.

The last part cited is the usual patronizing, so hallmark of politicians. Ms. Seldana feels that she has the knowledge, power and wisdom to tell the people of California what her opinion is on responsible gun ownership.
I have been a gun owner for the last 30 years. It would be interesting to find out how, before Ms. Seldana became the high and mighty lawmaker she is, she used to get around to do whatever she was doing. Assuming she drove her own car, I am sure that at some point she changed the radio station while driving, or talk on the phone or maybe even put some make-up on, which really means that she was more of a menace to society by doing those things while driving that I have ever been as a gun owner.

Guns are really intimidating in the hands of the wrong people: a rapist, a gang banger, a robber. Guns are equally intimidating in the hands of a law abiding citizen, but only for potential criminals.

Criminals prey on those they believe they can overpower easily. A robber will try to hit a convenience store, especially if it is staffed by women and in the dead of night. That is because the expected level of resistance is minimal, while the level of intimidation is at the highest. But if the robber walks in a convenience store and sees the clerk with a very visible sidearm, he/she may be convinced that that is not the right store to rob and just walk away.
I have said this before, but there is a reason why gun stores are rarely robbed.

The last sentence of Ms. Seldana press release is a little confusing and disturbing. What imbalance of power is she referring to? Between, for example, me with my holstered .45 taking a stroll with my wife and the woman with her child in the stroller? There is no imbalance of power, as I am not in a power struggle with the woman.
But if the woman had a .45 holstered on herself and her estranged husband would pull a gun on her to kidnap their child, than that .45 would eliminate the imbalance of power existing if she was unarmed. But I am sure Ms. Seldana would prefer that the mother and her child would be victims as long as the big, bad gun was not there. Easy to be the almighty politician when it is not you or your loved one being victimized.

I could not find any info on the number of complaints logged into the Police Dept. regarding the incident Ms. Seldana was inspired by, but I would be willing to wager that it was not from all the people on that beach, meaning that those being “frightened” were the minority of the people present.
So here is another instance where the minority is affecting the majority of the people. Once taking inventory of the situation, most people probably thought that the particular beach was probably the safest in the whole state.
“Minority rules” may work in political campaigns as we know all too painfully well, and it probably worked for Ms. Seldana election, but the US Constitution does not work exclusively for minorities. It defines the rights of all citizens, including the minorities.

It remains highly inconceivable to me why liberals are so set against the rights of the people to defend themselves. Some of the comments I read about this situation were really revolting. One woman expressed her “terror” in seeing “all those guns” in the open. But she is probably one of those people that just because they live in an upper scale area, do not believe that crime can happen in their part of town. It is these kind of people, those who live with their pampered heads in the sand, that elect these feel-good, flowers-in-your-hair, lets-make-love-not-war politicians with their anti-Constitutional ideologies. And the same ones who criminals love so much.

Two Down, One More To Go!

By Semperpapa

The second Navy Seal Team member under Court Martial proceedings in Iraq was found NOT guilty of all charges.

Awesome news for these American heroes.

One more to go before the sweep in complete.

Update: After a daylong trial and fewer than two hours of mulling the evidence, Navy Judge Cmdr. Tierny Carlos found Petty Officer 2nd Class Jonathan Keefe of Yorktown, Virginia, not guilty of dereliction of duty.

Update: The third Navy Seal indicted for the alleged assault on the terrorist is SO2 Matthew McCabe. McCabe is the Officer that is accused of actually punching the terrorist. The law firm representing Matthew, as reported on Blackfive, has requested the trial authority officer, Maj. Gen. Charles Cleveland, to dismiss the case against their client, as it would be a useless waste of taxpayer dollars.

Chuck Rips Into Obama

By Semperpapa

Well, well, well! What is this I read…Chuck Schumer, yes the liberal senator from New York, is not happy with the treatment of Israel on the part of his boss, President Obama.
Not to say that Chucky boy does not have a good point, but I am very suspicious of the motivation behind the scolding.

In a statement, Schumer said he considered the administration shift in policy regarding the Middle East Peace process to be counter-productive, as if Obama shows favoritism to the Palestinian cause, while trashing Israel, he creates the perfect reason for the Palestinians not to go to the negotiating table.

Schumer said:
...when you give the Palestinians hope that the United States
will do its negotiating for them, they are not going to sit down and talk.
Palestinians don’t really believe in a state of Israel...
And:
...It’s counter-productive, it’s actually the opposite. The only way the
Palestinians will sit down and talk is if they know Israel and the United States
are as close as could be. And each administration learns it...

While I must say that Chucky boy’s argument is right on the money when he points out that of the two contestants Israel is the only one that really buys into the two-state concept while the Palestinians just want Israel to disappear, I am not at all convinced that the motivation of the NY senator is purely geo-political.

Antagonism on the part of Obama and his clowns against Israel has been manifested since day one of this disastrous presidency, and Chuck has been basically silent. But one of the big components of Obama and the Democrats electoral successes has been the Jewish vote, as crazy as that may sound.
So, in my opinion, Chucky is suddenly speaking out on the subject. Maybe the polling and Jewish special interest have made their point clear to the senator that the anti-Israel position the administration has taken may create some heartburn in November.

I know this may sound cynical on my part, but I am just going by the record of the characters involved. Sure everyone could have a day of sanity occasionally, but I need more than one speech to be convinced of the purity of intent of a politician.

Who the hell knows at this point.

The VAT (Value Added Tax) is making the rounds in the media with many being opposed to it. In a nut shell, it is like a national sales tax that would go directly in the pockets of the federal government. But the part that would be really funny, if it wasn't tragic, is that nobody in the administration seems to have a clear message on the VAT to give the American people.

Joe "Foot-in-mouth" Biden says that there is no VAT.
Tim "I-cheat-on-my-taxes-because-I-can" Geitner says that it is a consideration.
Robert "Family-Guy" Gibbs says unequivocably "no VAT".
And Obama says that it may be considered even if it would be a novelty for the American people, but that many other countries have adopted similar fiscal policies.

So, really, the only sure thing is that these clowns have not gotten together on the subject as of yet. Or does it?

The level of subterfuge used by the characters in the administration and in Congress is so elevated that personally, I am not inclined to believe anything they say nor the impression they want to give the people.
While they appear to be all over the map on this issue, I tend to believe that they have already set in motion the internal mechanism to stick the American people with another European style tax.
I know for a fact that Italy has such an animal and that it is quite substantial, forcing many merchants to do business under the table in order to be able to sell their products, risking major fines from the central government. On the other hand, such practice is welcomed by the consumer who otherwise would refrain from the purchase.

So there you have it! Obama is once again trying to emulate a European system that has proven to be flawed and inducive of illegal activity. Just like the Socialized Medicine system that he wants to dump the country in.

But the avarage American people are going to be so confused by the pretend diversity of messages coming from the administration that by the time they realize what has happened, we will be paying a Value Added Tax on every item we purchase. By that time it will be too late to repeal unless We the People fire all the bums in Congress in November.

The first Navy Seal under indictment for giving a bloody lip to a murderous terrorist has been cleared and found not guilty in the Court Martial proceedings in Camp Victory, Iraq!

This from Fox News:
A six-man jury found Petty Officer 1st Class Julio Huertas,
29, of Blue Island, Illinois, not guilty of charges of dereliction of duty and attempting to influence the testimony of another service member. The jury spent two hours deliberating the verdict

Sec. Gates And The Iran Question

By Semperpapa

On 17 April, 2010, the NY Times published an article by David E. Sanger and Thom Shanker titled: Gates Says U.S. Lacks a Policy to Thwart Iran.

The report in question was a highly classified memo that Sec. Gates sent to the White House in January. The NY Times had received the leak of the existence of the memo from the ubiquitous anonymous source.
There was a time in our history when the divulgence of classified material was a quick ticket to the electric chair or a firing squad. But those were the good old days, when it was understood that the reason for classifying documents resided in the fact that the enemy’s knowledge of that information was a clear danger for our Nation, our people and our Military.
Today things are different. Classified material is leaked to the media all the time, action motivated by either political or financial gain or both. The good old days are gone, replaced by total lust for sensationalism or political revenge.

In any case, the memo was leaked and created quite a stir among those Americans who are actually paying a little attention. The reason for the stir was that Sec. Gates supposedly used the secret memo to communicate to the White House that the United States does not have a clear response to the Iranian march toward the acquisition of nuclear capability (read: nuclear weapons).
No official mention of the memo or even an admission of its existence had been brought forward by the Administration until the NYT article had shown up.

Three quick observations on the subject:

  1. Obama spoke in very general term about Iran during the basically useless conference he led in Washington DC last week on the threat of nuclear terrorism;

  2. The memo was delivered by the Sec. of Defense to the Administration just following Iran’s open rejection of any diplomatic overture with the West;

  3. Even after Iran’s rejection of negotiations, Obama and his characters still continue to speak of promising diplomatic steps.

Secretary Gates wasted no time in defending himself about the memo. On April 18, just one day after the NYT article appeared, Mr. Gates came out to say that his observations in the report had been mischaracterized by the person that had leaked them to the NYT.
While the person had labeled the report as a “wake-up call” for the president, Gates stated that it was not any such thing, but just a continuation of preparation of the Pentagon for contingency planning and dialog among those tasked to address the issue by Obama.

So what is the truth in all this? Obviously, those who know the truth are not willing to share that knowledge, leaving the national security experts to analyze and the rest of us to wonder.

It is very obvious that the number one enemy of this planet is the theocracy in Iran and the often unhinged Ahmedinejad. It is also obvious that the Obama administration is pretty much clueless on the steps that may be needed to reach a solution of the Iranian question.

Ever since his inauguration, Obama has had to face the prospect of an increasingly aggressive regime in Teheran. The failures of the Bush administration on the subject were part of the anti-Bush campaign and rhetoric that Democrats and the media had used in boosting the image and campaign of the highly unqualified candidate from Chicago. And Obama delivered exactly on that premise, because his approach to the problem has been a complete failure.

The first step that Obama took was one aimed at ingratiating the Muslim world by presenting himself as the anti-Bush. The promised closure of Guantanamo Bay prison, the first television interview granted to Al-Jazeera, the apology tour and apology speech in Cairo. It was all part of a strategy designed to show the Muslim world that the United States was in a changing mode, that there was a new sheriff in town.
Subsequently, the American people have been treated to a myriad of moves aimed at showing the “tolerant” side of America, with the removal of terms like “war of terror” and “Radical Muslims” from the official jargon. Also an undertone opening of governmental avenues to Muslim groups which should not be anywhere near government officials.
Besides the visceral ideological differences with his predecessor, Obama believed that by just appearing as the antithesis of Bush was going to buy him the love and affection of the Muslim world, an obvious miscalculation one wants to believe.

While such effort was being, and still is, put forward by Obama and his cohorts toward the Islamic world, including our enemies, Iran continues to ramp up its nuclear program while remaining defiant of the demands of the international community.
And the shift in Washington policy has never been as overt as in the treatment of Israel. Obama has been more prone to chastise a true ally like Israel over the construction of few settlements than he has been toward the largest supporter of global terrorism in pursuit of nuclear weapons, not to mention the clear support that Iran has been providing to the terrorists that are killing our Military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It is my opinion that Iran was somewhat preoccupied by the presence of American and Coalition troops across their eastern border, Afghanistan, and their western border as well in Iraq. Once Obama election was in the books, the theocracy in Teheran realized that the leadership of their worst enemy, America, had fallen in the hands of a man who had made one of the focal points of his campaign his opposition to the war in Iraq.
Obama practical ignorance of the events in Iraq and the pervading signs of appeasement gave the Ayatollahs the needed sense of security in the pursuit of their agenda, aided by the resurging Russian Bear and the ever increasingly powerful China. Is it any wonder that those two nations are so staunchly opposed to any UN resolution against Iran?
Moreover, Obama failed miserably in taking the appropriate stand for a United States President when he refused to publicly come out in support of the demonstrators who went in the streets of the Iranian cities protesting the dubious election results last year. Again Teheran saw the shifted policy of the American government. And the freedom seeking Iranians saw it too as they were slaughtered.

Then there are the words of Dr. James Carafano of the Heritage Foundation, who, in an article of 19 April 2010 titled Terrorist Short List is Getting Longer, enumerates the developing terror threats we as a country are faced with including Hamas and Hezbollah, who are backed by Iran and who may be soon ordered to directly attack American interests. These two groups are the ones that most likely would be the first clients of a nuclear power Iran.

Finally, for all those who still cling to the concept of the United Nations coming into the picture and save the day by passing strict sanctions against Iran, one only has to read Amb. John Bolton’s book Surrender Is Not An Option to really understand the complete and utter uselessness of that organization.

California Needs One Of Him

By Semperpapa

As i read the latest from New Jersey, I wish that California would have someone like Chris Christie running for Governor.

Here is a guy, a Conservative, who since taking office has been able to piss off just about every special interest group in the Garden State, relieving the strangle hold they have had on the financial and political environment of that state and gaining me as a big fan.

The latest in his crusade to cut spending has pitted Christie against the teacher's union and it appears that the Governor has scored another victory for the people of New Jersey.
After freezing the pay increase for the union members, and being viciously attacked for it by the state teachers, the people of New Jersey rejected the majority of school budgets that the union wanted, practically spelling out their support for the Governor's plan to reduce state spending.

The attacks that Christie has been subjected to have been brutal, having been called "fat fuck" and compared to PolPot of Cambodia, a mass murderer. And these are attacks coming from the teachers via the social network Facebook, which is openly available to their students.
What an exemplary behavior on the part of those in charge of our children's education!

Still my wish remains for someone like Chris Christie here in California, as the two Republican contenders for Governor, Mag Whitman and Steve Poizner talk big conservative talk, but I am not convinced they walk the conservative walk, and we have already had enough of RINO droppings in Sacramento.
And than there is Jerry Brown on the liberal side, a guy I would not allow to try to catch my dog. Just as someone told me years ago, "in California politics, if it's Brown, flush it!"

Anyone reading this while residing in New Jersey, I wish you and your Governor the best of luck and my Conservative support. And if Christie ever would like to move West, he'll have my vote.

Economic Growth Is Over!

By Semperpapa

It appears that the good old days of exceptional economic growth are over for America, at least according to…President Obama.
In a meeting at the White House on Exports and Job Creation, the President made a speech of which the following is a small, but revealing portion:

“Part of this global rebalancing is that they’re going to have to make some
decisions as well about how they are approaching their domestic markets. And,
you know, part of the bargain that we’re trying to strike within the G-20
framework is to say, “Look, we’ve got to take on our responsibilities in terms
of improving our savings rate. You, on the other hand, have to recognize that a
purely export-driven strategy of economic growth is not going to work, in that
American consumers are just not going to be in the same position, and the
American government is not going to be in the same position, that it’s been in
over the last several years.”

So let us just analyze the brief passage.
He is talking of global rebalancing, which in the case of Obama really translates in bending over to the economic rape of other countries as opposed as safeguarding our own economic welfare. I wonder if Obama’s idea of rebalancing includes the financial backing of offshore oil drilling for Brazil, while maintaining the same course of servitude of our nation to foreign oil.
While he cons the American people with his little bit of nothing regarding opening up offshore drilling off the coast of Virginia, he shut down the research for our own oil in Alaska.
And I have not heard of any plan for new nuclear power plants that not only would have a drastic impact on our energy independence, but they would create thousands of good paying jobs.
And this is only in the realm of the energy issue.

He is trying to strike a bargain with the G-20 by again apologizing for America. What he is conveniently leaving out is the fact that countless world economies have greatly benefited from American economic growth, as the imports we have been taking in over the past few decades have allowed countries to greatly improve their economic status.

Obama is right, though, in his assessment of the ability of the American people to sustain the level of purchasing power that so many foreign countries have been enjoying, thanks to the irresponsible economic policies that he himself has succeeded in bringing on the people.
For many of the world economies, exports to the US was a major source of national revenue and absolutely necessary for the maintenance of an improved employment rate.
Of course Obama and his supporters see these dynamics in other countries as negative, assessing the blame for the poor working conditions in some of those nations to American consumerism, instead of exercising the due pressure on those nations’ governments for better labor conditions. Again, when in doubt, blame America!

And again Obama is correct in telling that the American consumer will not be in the same position of buying power that it has been in the past. That is absolutely correct, as Obama is achieving something that nobody has ever had the chance to do: destroying our economy, by increasing the level of unemployment and over taxing those who do have a job.
It is not a secret, although it may come as “unexpected”, that when people are out of work, they are more inclined to reduce their spending; while economic instability has the effect, on those who do work, to become more conservative about separating with their money, as the future appears uncertain.
Moreover, when a country finds itself faced by 50% of its population paying 100% of its taxes, there is definitely a basic problem with the whole policy.

What I gather from the words of Obama is that he is sending the message that the days of financial growth and economic expansion in America are over. His numerous attempts to reduce our Nation’s economic power to the levels of some of the European countries he so loves, are finally paying over.
His goal of creating governmental dependence of a large portion of the population is taking good shape, heavily betting on the fact that many Americans are satisfied with handouts from the ruling class as opposed to self reliance.
Concurrently he is strengthening and multiplying the venues of income for those whose supports he needs to accomplish his agenda, namely the George Soros of the world and the Unions and the selected Wall Street companies who are going to benefit from his Fascist policies.

That is the agenda of President Obama. And he is not even hiding it that well any longer, because he does not have to indeed, as he already has the support of the bloodsuckers abusing their welcome in this great Nation.

Good News!

By Semperpapa

A declassified memo form the Department of Defense tells that it estimates Iran to have a missile capable to reach the United States by 2015.

That's really good news!

I feel much better knowing that the theocracy in that country is progressing in its march toward the realization of weapons that can affect US soil.
It definitely is time, then, to dismantle further our research in missile defense.
After all, if the United States shows its peaceful side, certainly the nutcases in Teheran will refrain from any attempt to hit us. Right?

Isn't this the philosophy of the Left? The way to peace is to unilaterally disarm, because, after all, the problems our planet has experienced in the last 200+ years can be clearly attributed to the imperialism of the United States.
So if we put flowers in our guns, people like Ahmedinejad and Chavez and Putin and the Radical Islamists, will definitely take notice and reject their intentions to attack America.

A leaked memo from Sec. of Defense Gates few days back, stated that America has no clear containment policy for Iran. That and the news about Iran's near missile capability is not succeeding in making me feel warm and fuzzy about the safety my family can enjoy in the days and years to come. Call me crazy!

It's time now to get some adults back into power. Let's get these clueless teenagers out of Washington and send them packing back to the rocks they craweld from under.
My message to them s clear: you have done enough damage for my taste. Now go away and let real Americans fix what you destroied!

Fire them all in November, if you love America!

Why Are The TEA Party Folks So Demonized?

By Semperpapa

It is very simple, really.
They are the antithesis of the progressive movement. Progressivism is the "evolution" of a society under the strict control of the society leadership. While progressives strive to appear as if they want to insure a total equalization among the members of that society, they are also interested in championing the leaders they elect. By doing so, they aim at achieving an elevated status by moving closer to the elitism of their champion while distancing from the "unwashed" masses.
These, the progressives, are the truer racist of all, as they desire common folks to fall under the complete jurisdiction of the government, all the while they try to become part of that ruling body, therefore part of the controlling class.

The people who attend the TEA Parties, instead, and the millions more who are, for one reason or another, mere spectators, are the symbol of the independence of the American people. These are the moms and pops, children, grandchildren, grandpas and grandmas, men and women, black and white, brown, yellow people of America.
They are people who truly believe that they know best how to raise their children and how to spend their money.
They are the people who do not need the intervention of the government to tell them how to eat, what to drive, how to live. And they are the same who, when their choices prove to be wrong, are willing to work hard and sacrifice to make things right, without the intrusion of the political leadership.
While progressives believe that sacrificing personal freedom is worth the handout from the government, TEA Party members and true Americans see the intrusion of the government as a mean for the reduction of the same personal freedoms.

There is also another major difference. If progressivism wins, the same progressives may one day find that the cost in liberties was really too high for the benefits they receive from a despotic government, and by that time it will be too late to reverse the damage.
But if the true American spirit wins, the result is that our society will have to go back to the principles of self reliance and hard work in order to right the wrong that the oppressive government perpetrated.

Personally, I place my bets on the ability of the American people to work hard, sacrifice for their country and strive to maintain the liberties that our Forefathers established in the United States Constitution.
There is no shame in falling, if we are willing to pick ourselves up and work hard to stand on our feet.
There is a lot of shame, though, to allow a despotic government to make us fall and keep us down, allowing us only the ability to crawl at the rate imposed upon us.

Navy's Misstep

By Semperpapa

Amazingly, this piece of News has hit the wire mostly in the Military blogs:

The Navy is going to name the latest of their San Antonio amphibious ships (LPD-26) after the late congressman John Murtha.

That is correct!

After the back stabbing that the ex-Marine perpetrated against his men while serving in Vietnam and after falsely accusing several Marines of atrocities after an incident in Haditha, Iraq, for which all the accused Marines have been acquitted, it remains a puzzling question the reasoning behind the honor that such action would impart on Murtha.
If the ship was destined to carry pork belly pigs, the name USS Murtha would be a fitting one.

The ironic part is that the Navy ship would be carrying up to 700 United States Marines once on deployment, and it would be interesting how the Marines would feel about being on a ship named after a man who betrayed their own. I trust that the Marines will come up with an appropriate, colorful nickname for this vessel.

Words Of Wisdom From Slick Billy

By Semperpapa

So big Slick Willie, as Monica called him affectionately (wink, wink), has opened his mouth again in his usual opportunistic, dishonorable way.

He has insinuated that the TEA Party movement rallies and protests can be considered dangerous as they are inciting violence against the government.

It is obvious that bobbing Billy's memory is as short as...whatever, and that the acts he speaks of, pure acts of domestic terrorism like the Oklahoma City bombing, were just that, acts of terrorism perpetrated by extremists who lurked in the shadows of our free society.

Tim McVeigh did not splurge his message of hate prior to committing his heinous crime, but he plotted it as a good terrorist, because that is what he was.
In the days following the Oklahoma bombing, Slick Willie, in a surge of pointing fingers at anyone but himself, even accused talk show host Rush Limbaugh of fomenting acts like the one perpetrated by McVeigh.

The current administration and patented con artists like Slick, are all concentrating on the personal destruction of the common American, the common Joe off the street. They have done so to Joe the Plummer, they continue to do so against Talk Radio personalities, and against those Americans who dare exercise they Constitutionally guaranteed right to speak up against a tyrannical government.

Obama apologists, among which Slick Willie is trying to hide in plain sight, would say that my statements are hyperbolic. But really, just look closely to what the current regime has accomplished in the last year and four months and then tell me I am exaggerating.

And so the megalomaniac Bill "Slick" Clinton, being probably tired of whatever bimbos his handlers can provide, has decided to chime in the TEA Party issue, bringing his usual nothingness in view of contribution.
But don't be fooled. The main reason why Slick is even caring about the folks of the Tea Party is because he solely interested in his own legacy. In his elitism, he is the typical racist Liberal and could care less about Obama, black people or anyone else besides himself.
The Oklahoma City bombing happened on his watch, exactly one year after Clinton had authorized the use of force against the Branch Dividian in Waco, Texas. By insinuating that the TEA Party may bring about the repetition of similar tragic terrorist acts is a way to take a shot against those who hold him responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing and shift blame.

Some will be swayed by this despicable man's rhetoric, most will just chuck it into the endless pit of nonsense that the man has been filling for decades.
Personally, i continue to hold this man responsible for the Waco massacre, the Ruby Ridge massacre, the first WTC attack, the USS Cole attack and for ignoring the fact that America was at war and therefore creating the best possible fertile ground for the 9-11-01 attacks.

So as far as i see it, the accusations Slick Willie is leveling against the TEA party members is nothing compare to the lives lost because of his liberal/progressive approach.
And he is a conservative compared to the characters in power today.

Obama Just Does Not Wanna Get It!

By Semperpapa

Wasn't it the Liberals who accused Bush, Republicans and Conservatives in general to be arrogant?
Well, it appears that President Obama just refuses to understand that there is a large porion of the American population that just does not like his policies and are not willing to just roll over and play dead.

Yesterday, April 15th, the dreaded Tax Day, thousands of citizens across the country gathered to protest the administration policies on spending and taxing. And Obama has been out there mocking the message and the people who bring it.

According to this arrogant elitist, those of us who disagree with him should actually say "thank you" to him. So in the spirit of appreciation, I will do just that.

Thank you, Mr. President, for increasing my taxes and proposing/supporting even more taxation that will force me to lower my standard of living.

Thanks you for causing the loss of millions of jobs across the Nation by applying your Marxist ideology to our once free market system.

Thank you for spending money that we don't have, financially burdening several generations to come.

Thank you for championing a HealthCare travesty that will bankrupt the best health care in the world, will lower the availability and quality of care and cost thousands of jobs more.

Thank you for going around the world apologizing for my country, especially to our sworn enemies.

Thank you for trying to destroy the Judeo-Christian foundations of our Nation.

Thank you for your ignorance of the efforts our Military has put forward in Iraq, insulting and degrading the sacrifice of every single Military member that has died there and their families, and sticking your middle finger in the face of the thousands who carry the wounds, emotional and physical, of their service.

Thank you for delaying the decision to surge our Military in Afghanistan. The families of those whose your delay cost their lives thank you as well.

Thank you for dishonoring the memory of the victims of the 9-11 attack by renaming that day as Service Day, whatever that is.

Thank you for demonstrating your adversity toward American exceptionalism. Weather we like it or not.

Thank you for allowing a much greater freedom to the radical Islamists who are roaming around the country, while labeling our Veterans as potential right wing extremists.

And finally, Mr. President, thank you so very much for demonstrating a true, visceral disdain for the United States Constitution, a document that has guided the Nation to its greatness and that you consider to be an hindrance to your ascention to complete, dictatorial power.

I am sure I forgot some other reason for being thankful that the man in the White House is trying to change my country into a European-look-alike Socialist nation, but for now I am all out of gratitude.
I just hope that the American people will show you your deserved appreciation in November 2010 and again in 2012, sending you and all your cohorts into a much deserved retirement.

Wise Man Talking

By Semperpapa

There is a man who too few American people are familiar with, a brilliant man, in my opinion, who should be invited by the Department of Education to oversee, if not fully write, the history books that our children would study from. This man is Dr. Victor Davis Hanson.

I am not going to elaborate on his resume, because it is so vast that it would take the whole article, but suffices to say that I have never seen or heard anyone with more historical knowledge that Dr. Hanson. And being a history junkie, I truly appreciate his contribution to our society in both speaking and writing terms.

That said, I visit his web site often at
www.victorhanson.com to get this man’s prospective on the historical times we are currently living in.
One of the effects reading his articles have is a calming one. As I go through the day feeling physically ill by witnessing the damage the current political leadership is perpetrating on my country, usually reading Dr. Hanson’s work calms me down, as he has a very precise, doctrinal and scientific approach to his condemnation of the reckless actions of our government.

On April 14, 2010 the following article appeared on Hanson’s web site, and just by the title I knew that the man was fairly incensed by some of the latest events. Here is the article:

http://www.victorhanson.com/articles/hanson041410B.html

The five reasons that pushed Dr. Hanson into calling the NY Times writer a “lunatic”, action very uncharacteristic, is the focus of my interest.

a) "Netanyahu was the first foreign leader to think he could steamroll Obama." Hardly. Right out of the blocks Putin did it with his phony missiles-for-Iran deal. Under "reset" diplomacy, Ahmadinejad for a year now has been pressing ahead as never before. The Chinese certainly assume that they can "steamroll" this administration, as we saw from the last meeting there.

Who can forget the embarrassing scene of Sec. Of State Clinton with the Russian Foreign Minister and that “reset” button, which word was spelled wrong. But even wanting to ignore the ignoramus, it is well known, understood and totally ignored the fact that Russia has been the major supplier of nuclear technology to Iran, so the accusation against Netanyahu of being the first foreign leader trying to bully Obama is the total fabrication of a complacent journalistic apologist.

b) Khrushchev was our enemy trying to destroy freedom from Asia to Eastern Europe; Netanyahu is the head of an allied democracy, one that is a beacon of constitutionalism in a sea of autocracy.

Comparing Obama’s insult of Netanyahu to the way J.F. Kennedy stood up to the Soviet Premier Khrushchev is indeed absurd. Israel has been an open ally of the United States for a long time.
When during the Gulf War Iraq was launching SCUD missiles against Israel, killing its civilian population, the Jewish government maintained restrain even is their military would have been more than capable to take final care of the SCUD problem. They refrained so that the fragile coalition the United States had assembled against Saddam Hussein would remain intact. Sure the coalition took extraordinary steps to reduce the particular threat to Israel, but any kind of military intervention, which would have been fully justified, would have created much graver problems. That is an ally.

c) The Soviet Union was a massive superpower with thousands of nuclear bombs and missiles and an entire bloc of communist client states; Israel is a tiny country of 7 million and mostly alone; how heroic is it to bully an allied small democracy versus a huge communist dictatorship?

This touches on what has become clearer regarding the tendencies of Obama toward the Middle East, because it shows that the U.S. President is more inclined to stand next to the enemies of Israel and turn his back on the only democratically run nation in the whole region. On the other hand, Obama is turning his back on the American people in favor of our radical Islamic enemies, so that is not much of a surprise.

d) Kennedy said later of that summit in Vienna that Khrushchev "beat the hell out of me" — an accurate assessment, since Khrushchev came away determined to press his luck during the Cuban Missile Crisis to come. So we don't know the reaction of the Israelis or Palestinians to all this — only that anytime the U.S. gratuitously seeks to humiliate Israel, we can expect its enemies to see a green light and escalate, whether on the ground in the Middle East, at Arab Summits, or in the U.N.

The consequence of the humiliation Obama handed over to Netanyahu have not manifested themselves as of yet. But if the enemies of Israel, and of America for that matter, are going to be emboldened by the obvious distancing that Obama is showing with the Israeli nation, the results may be catastrophic, as over the years Israeli Military power, and the willingness to use it, combined to the knowledge that the US would back that nation, has been a strong deterrent.

e) A shaky American leader usually seeks to stand up to powerful regional dictatorships rather than pick on friends — that is, if the point is that the United States is still there for its allies and a formidable foe to its enemies. But apparently that was not the intent at all with Israel.

This point sorts of give foundation to much of my past statements. Obama is throwing Israel under the bus, to use an expression of others, just has he has done with many of the nations that have traditionally been America’s closest allies. Britain, Israel, Poland, Georgia.
If the bases of such outrageous policies were just a total lack of understanding of the situation, one would expect Obama to lean even more on those governments that he knows for certain he can count on.
By instead clearly opposing an ally like Israel, gives me one more reason to believe that the alienation of that country is a deliberate move to not only distancing himself from them in order to ingratiate his agenda to the Arab world, the Muslim anti-Jewish world, but a conscientious attempt to isolate Netanyahu and his country, leaving him to have to fend for himself in a really dangerous neighborhood. The question remains of why and the answer will probably be given by the events of the next few months.

Obama And Georgia

By Semperpapa

The country of Georgia, not the state, to be precise.

The former Soviet Republic of Georgia, which became a free, pro-west nation after the implosion of the Soviet Union, has since been a staunch ally of the United States, even providing Military assets to the efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
After gaining independence in 1991 as an individual nation instead of a Soviet Republic, the country has been trying to assert its sovereignty, independent from Moscow.
The 2003 Rose Revolution brought Mikhail Saakashvili to power, a staunch supporter of the West.

Georgia has been a major contributor to the international efforts in the war on terror, providing the American-led invasion of Iraq with 2,000 troops. That effort placed the Georgian contribution to the war in Iraq third in number of soldiers after the US and Britain.

Granted that the Tbilisi government was using the Military contribution as an incentive for the powers to be to support its request for NATO membership, but nevertheless the Georgian soldiers bled and died with ours.

Saakashvili should have known, therefore, that having been an ally of the United States would place Georgia on the black list of the current administration, as it is obvious that being a supporter of America is enough to be looked unfavorably by Obama.

During the 2008 invasion of Georgian territory called South Ossetia by Russian military forces, then candidate Obama expressed no condemnation of the Russian illegal incursion, even as the Bush administration expressed its deep regret for it and worked toward insuring the halting of combat and the withdrawal of Russian troops from almost all invaded territories.
And than there was the spineless move on the part of what is today called NATO. Just a shadow of the organization that kept Europe free from the Soviet tanks, today’s alliance has made no move on Georgia request for membership, lest the other European countries would have to actually do something in defense of one of NATO members.
As of today, Russian troops are occupying a portion of Georgian territory.

During this week Nuclear Conference in Washington, Obama appeared not to find the time to have a one-on-one meeting with Saakashvili, even if finding enough time to meet with much less “prevalent” participants, especially after the announcement from the Caucasian country’s government that its security forces had foiled a plot involving the sale of weapon-grade uranium.
In a perfect world, Saakashvili should have been the first foreign leader Obama would meet, if the US President was really serious about the prevention of such material falling in the wrong hands.

Instead, the president of Georgia got a polite phone call from the White House.
Moreover, considering the reverence Obama has been demonstrating toward the leaders of the resurging Soviet Union, Medveded and Putin, Saakashvili greatly increased the contempt from Obama when he publicly expressed his belief that the Moscow government is very involved in the airplane crash that killed the Polish president, Lech Kaczynski, his family and several other governmental VIPs.
Coincidentally, the Polish President had been a unbendable supporter of Georgia during the 2008 Russian military action, obviously sparking Moscow’s ire against him.

While NATO turned its back and Obama snubs them, the Georgian president continues to be a strong ally, including ordering the deployment of about 1,000 troops to Afghanistan to fight under US Military command.
According to Georgian officials, the deployment of troops to Afghanistan has a dual benefit. One would be, again, to prove the solidarity of the country with the ISAF efforts. The second would give those troops invaluable training that is viewed as essential in view of possible future confrontations with the Russian Military, eventuality Tbilisi sees almost unavoidable.

I have feelings of sorrow for the people of Georgia, as it must be a sobering realization to witness a country like the United States so openly and resolutely turn its back on its allies (Britain, Israel and Georgia too) and all because of the efforts of one man who is completely dedicated to renege on the traditions of American support for the cause of freedom.

It is a shock also for many Americans, who are appalled at the treatment this President has reserved for those nations who have been walking the walk, talking the talk right next to America.
Embarrassing action from a President who has made the word “embarrassing” the foundation of his every policy since the day he was elected.
