Why Are The TEA Party Folks So Demonized?

By Semperpapa

It is very simple, really.
They are the antithesis of the progressive movement. Progressivism is the "evolution" of a society under the strict control of the society leadership. While progressives strive to appear as if they want to insure a total equalization among the members of that society, they are also interested in championing the leaders they elect. By doing so, they aim at achieving an elevated status by moving closer to the elitism of their champion while distancing from the "unwashed" masses.
These, the progressives, are the truer racist of all, as they desire common folks to fall under the complete jurisdiction of the government, all the while they try to become part of that ruling body, therefore part of the controlling class.

The people who attend the TEA Parties, instead, and the millions more who are, for one reason or another, mere spectators, are the symbol of the independence of the American people. These are the moms and pops, children, grandchildren, grandpas and grandmas, men and women, black and white, brown, yellow people of America.
They are people who truly believe that they know best how to raise their children and how to spend their money.
They are the people who do not need the intervention of the government to tell them how to eat, what to drive, how to live. And they are the same who, when their choices prove to be wrong, are willing to work hard and sacrifice to make things right, without the intrusion of the political leadership.
While progressives believe that sacrificing personal freedom is worth the handout from the government, TEA Party members and true Americans see the intrusion of the government as a mean for the reduction of the same personal freedoms.

There is also another major difference. If progressivism wins, the same progressives may one day find that the cost in liberties was really too high for the benefits they receive from a despotic government, and by that time it will be too late to reverse the damage.
But if the true American spirit wins, the result is that our society will have to go back to the principles of self reliance and hard work in order to right the wrong that the oppressive government perpetrated.

Personally, I place my bets on the ability of the American people to work hard, sacrifice for their country and strive to maintain the liberties that our Forefathers established in the United States Constitution.
There is no shame in falling, if we are willing to pick ourselves up and work hard to stand on our feet.
There is a lot of shame, though, to allow a despotic government to make us fall and keep us down, allowing us only the ability to crawl at the rate imposed upon us.

Just my thoughts!
