Time To Demand Some Answers

By Semperpapa

While the country is riveted on the drama surrounding the decision of Charlie Christ to run for the Senate as an independent, thrashing the Republican Party and trying to get in bed with Rahm Emanuel, and the vicious attacks against Arizona because of the illegal immigration bill, the American people have been kept almost in the dark on some foreign policy issues that the powers to be are working hard to keep hidden.

These issues are regarding Iran and the United Nations, two of the most vicious and determined enemies of America, and great allies of Obama.

Let me start with the United Nation.

The UN has announced, in the most obscure and covert way possible, that Iran has joined the UN Commission on the Status of Women, a commission that is tasked with the safeguarding of gender equality in the world. Digest that, I’ll wait… Yup!
So the thugs from Teheran are going to have the right to express their opinion on the treatment of women. The appointment came by acclamation, meaning that no other country presented any opposition nor requested a vote on it. This means also the United States.

Obviously, our government must be so busy insuring that the TEA Party demonstrations are closely monitored by riot police, that they did not have the time to mount the common sensical opposition to an appointment that defies any appearance of decency.

Here we have a theocratic regime who institutionally incarcerate, rapes and kills women for any kind of minor infraction of some religious code; a regime that killed its own citizens like in the famous case of Neda who millions of people saw bleeding to death on the streets of Teheran; a regime that blames women dress preferences for earthquakes; and a regime that is threatening women with imprisonment if they show that they have a tan.
And these 7th century lunatics are appointed to an international commission dedicated to women’s rights? Is that the Twilight Zone music I hear?
And what about the feminist groups in America? Where is the outrage? Oh, I forgot that the only agenda of those so called women’s organization is to keep legal the use of abortion as a birth control device.

But the most revolting part of all this is the lack of action on the part of the United States government. Where the hell was the Susan Rice? Where the hell was Clinton? And where the hell was Obama? And these are the people handling foreign policy and our National security?

I was truly incensed by what I read, forming connotations of incompetence in my mind of the entire circus of characters from the White House to State to the UN.
But then I read another article that sort of made sense of the whole thing.

According to a Washington Times article by Eli Lake, the White House has been requesting Congress, more like putting a lot of pressure on the lawmakers, to insert “exemptions” in the proposed sanctions against Iran, for companies based in “cooperating countries”.

What this really means is that Obama wants to dilute the sanctions against the terrorist regime in Teheran by offering a pass to companies to conduct business with the Iranians if they are based in countries, read Russia and China, which are cooperating with the US.
In other words, Obama is willing to remove the teeth out of the only tool he is using to put pressure on Ahmedinejad on the nuclear weapons development.
By exempting companies in Russia and China from seizing doing business with Teheran, Obama is attempting to lure the two counties into not vetoing the resolution at the United Nations. That would allow Obama to claim to the world that he accomplished a unanimous vote at the UN for a measure that will have absolutely no relevance.
The main need for Iran is gasoline, for both financial and political reasons. For a country to be a major exporter of crude, its financial coffers should be bulging with cash as they are the major exporters of oil to Europe and Asia. But having to force gasoline rationing on its people because of its lack of refining capabilities, the theocracy is also fomenting a lot of malcontent within its borders.
The companies Obama want to give exemption are those that provide refined oil products back to the Iranian regime and are based in Russia and China, so for the Ayatollahs any kind of resolution containing such exemptions would mean absolutely nothing. And that would also be the case for those companies that continue to provide nuclear energy technology.

So there we have it. This appears to be just another game that Obama is playing right in the face of the American people and about the security of our country. Appeasing our enemies has become the favorite pastime of this disgrace of a President, as he allowed the travesty of having Iran on a women’s right commission at the UN in exchange for the possible support on the part of Russia and China, of a UN resolution that will be just the next waste of time and money.
And all the while, our enemies are growing in power and boldness in their demands and pursuits.

Today I heard some rumors about Iranian Revolutionary Guards elements present in Venezuela. I am researching the issue and will write about it when I learn more. Meanwhile, we still are hearing arguments against securing our southern border!

I think it’s time to demand some specific answers from our leaders!

Just my thoughts!
