National Day Of Prayer

By Semperpapa

This year the National Day of Prayer has reached an even greater significance for the American people, mostly because our Judeo-Christian foundations are under attack as never before.

The attacks have been multi-pronged, from the atheist side, from the Muslim side, from the government itself.
We have seen court challenges against the Pledge of Allegiance and "In God We Trust" on our money.
We have seen court challenges against a solitary cross in the middle of the Mohave Desert.
Prayers is not allowed before school sporting events and commercial establishments do not use the phrases "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Easter" any longer for fear of "offending" someone.
Ironically, as Christianity has come under attack, we have seen colleges provide foot baths for Muslim students and special accommodations for prayer, and we have seen even the Air Force Academy in Colorado provide an area for Paganism worshiping.

And now the attack is against the National Day of Prayer, including some federal judge stating the observation is unconstitutional.
The Pentagon dis-inviting Franklyn Graham and banning any Day of Prayer meditation after Muslim military members complained. Just another example of political correctness going off into the Twilight Zone, with a tiny minority dictating to the rest of us.

Finally, I hope that all have a meaningful Day of Prayer today. We have a lot to pray for on the National level: for our country in these times of tribulations; for our men and women in uniform; for our institutions being attacked from within.

Just mu thoughts!
