SUV In NYC

By Semperpapa

An SUV parked in Times Square, left with its motor running and emergency flashers on; smokes comes out of it; popping sounds and fire.
Police clears the area of innocent pedestrians and, upon inspection, finds the SUV loaded with two propane tanks, two 5-gallon filled gasoline tanks, fire works, electrical clocks with batteries and some other components.

It appears that New York City dodged another potentially deadly attack.
With all the markings of a VBIED (Vehicle Born Improvised Explosive Device) on it that our Military knows very well from the experiences of Iraq and Afghanistan, the “incident” is being qualified by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano as a possible terrorist act.
During an interview on Fox News Sunday, Ms. Napolitano said

"It could be an act of terrorism,"
So what could be the clue, Ms. Napolitano? What else could it be?
NYC mayor Blomberg and police commissioner Kelly both called it what it is, but the person in charge of the security of our Nation says “it could be”.

I recognize that I am not part of the elite government and I am not “in the know” crowd, but I do not believe that most people drive around crowded city streets with tanks of propane and gasoline and a lit fuse. Nor I believe that the combination of items in that SUV could be attributed to an accident. Call me crazy!

Ms. Napolitano also said that the investigation is continuing, and that law enforcement has been able to lift some fingerprints off the vehicle. No suspect has been identified so far, at least not publically, which is understandable, but in view of the recent events around our country, I am also skeptical of the willingness of our current government to be open about the incident.

The situation brings back infuriating memories of the Ft. Hood massacre, when literally within minutes, federal government officials came out to state that it was not an act of terrorism. Even after it came out that Hasan was a radical Muslim, with al Qaeda connections and a long history of displeasure for American foreign policy, to this day the government refuses to divulge all the facts learnt during the investigation, generating instead useless and slanted reports that are nothing more than a clear insult of the American people’s intelligence.

So what can be hoped from the investigations? I sure hope that some truths may come out from this attempted “man made disaster”. I hope that the public will be informed of the real details that will be learnt from this and that awareness can be achieved by the people.

What can be expected is, I am afraid, a total cover-up if the perpetrators of this attempted act of terrorism just happen to have names like Mohammed or Ahmed.
The only way the American people will be allowed full knowledge of facts will be if the investigation will take authorities in the direction of domestic terror.
And if the government can hope for anything, they will find a link to the TEA Party.
In any case, lunatics like Keith Olberman and Rep. Grayson will find such link.

So the proof will come in the next 72-96 hours.
If nothing gets released or leaked to the media, if secrecy suddenly descends on the investigation, you can bet there is a radical Islam connection.
On the other hand, if the government can pin it on any of those who are critical of the regime, we will have press conferences, politicians and massive leaks filling the airwaves.

Either way, we may never know the truth.

Just my thoughts!
