Ahmadinejad Pulls An Obama

By Semperpapa

Iran’s puppet dictator pulled a total reversal of opinion yesterday by stating that the unrest we are witnessing in the Middle East these days is the fault of the West.

It was just last February, as Tunisia and Egypt were exploding, that Ahmadinejad hailed the protest in the streets of Tunis and Cairo as “the reverberation of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.”

Ahmadinejad latest contention is that the evil forces of the West are instead behind the spreading uprising around the region, guided by the intention of the West to take over the oil producing areas and forcing the West beliefs upon the Islamic world.

This is an interesting about face for the Iranian government, even though the initial reaction from Ahmadinejad might have been merely an attempt to stifle potential unrest within his own populace. It is more likely that the theocratic leadership saw troubling clouds at the horizon from the very beginning and attempted to confuse the world and instigate the West to intervene against the alleged “democracy wave” sweeping the region.

The events in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya must be disturbing for the Teheran folks, as there is a clear possibility that the Iranian people may decide to again show their dissatisfaction for the regime and take it to the streets. And there is a good possibility that dissension in Iran may have a more pro-West outcome, should it take shape.

The unrest in Syria, effectively a satellite state of Iran, must also inspire very uncomfortable feelings among the ayatollahs in Teheran. Could they be next?

Just my thoughts!
