Egypt Blowing Up In Obama's Face?

By Semperpapa

It was a horse that Obama backed promptly, claiming the traditional American support for the advancement of democracy around the world. But experts were cynical.

Egypt, the birth place of the Muslim Brotherhood, was imploding and throughout the process, there was no clear image of what was going to be replacing strongman Mubarek. Many warned about the takeover of the country on the part of radical Islamic forces, even as National Intelligence guru James Clapper qualified the Muslim Brotherhood as a "secular organization."

What is going on in Egypt since it fell off the News cycle is a slow, methodical move toward the goal many had feared: radical Islam.
Stories of Islamic teams running "virginity checks" on female protesters quickly appeared on the news wires and just as quickly disappear. Stories of new Egyptian airline maps of the Middle East which excluded Israel, followed in similar manner.
Now we hear of the once politically silent Islamist in the country making an about face about their disdain for politics and aiming at the next elections.

Mohamed el-Baradei, of United Nations dubious fame, is in the middle of the power vacuum fray, pandering to the jihad-inspired voters by promising a fight with Israel if that country makes any move to defend itself from terrorist attacks from Gaza.
Yes, another Nobel Peace laureate promising violence in the name of political agenda.

So, has the Obama's Egypt policy blown up in the President's face?
The answer has two possibilities. Either the children in charge in Washington have absolutely no clue about what the hell they are doing or they know it all too well.

I let you decide that. I am sure hoping for the former, as contemplating the latter is sort of frightening.

Just my thoughts!
