Eric Holder Whines About Terror Trials

By Semperpapa

On Monday, America witnessed another about-face on the part of the Obama administration. This time it was Attorney General Eric Holder coming out and declaring that the trials of the masterminds of the 9-11 attacks will indeed be held in Military Court instead of federal tribunal.

This was yet another reversal of a decision that had originally outraged the American people when in 2009 Holder had stated the DoJ decision to bring Khalid Sheik Mohammed and Co. to a federal court in New York to be held responsible for their involvement in the planning and actuation of the attacks of September 11, 2001.
The original decision had sparked great controversy at the time, purely designed to give Obama's fringe left a warm feeling about their messiah determination to right the wrongs that evil Bush had committed against the radical Muslims held in Gitmo.
Criticism had sparked from many different directions, from the Halls of Congress to America Main Street, mostly due to the issue of giving American enemies a public forum from where to spew their anti United States rhetoric, giving them the ability to place our Nation on trial.
The interesting detail is that at the time, Holder had practically guaranteed the conviction of those animals, basically violating the Constitution by disregarding the clause of "innocent until proven guilty" that our civilian judicial system is based on.

Opposition also came on the base of security and cost of federal tribunals being held in New York. Hundred of millions of dollars and a basic state of lock down for the Big Apple, had even raised the reservations of the Muslim lover mayor Bloomberg.

So now the trials go back to Guantanamo Bay, surely raising the dissatisfaction of those elements of the ACLU and extremist groups that were salivating at the prospect of America being on trial.
Holder is blaming Congress for the political pressure that some of its members, many of them Democrats, placed on the President to reverse the decision. In typical regime self-righteousness, Holder believes that he knows better than the folks on Capitol Hill and the majority of the American people.

What has fostered the change in policy? Simply explained: Obama's re-election campaign.
Sunday, Obama used a cheesy internet add to begin his 2012 presidential re-election effort.
In the last few months, America has witnessed several moves from the Obama regime to align itself more with the old policies of President Bush than the "pie-in-the-sky" feel good, bow-and-they-will-love-us approach that had placed Obama in the White House in 2008.
The electoral beating Obama and his Party took in the 2010 mid-terms and the unexpected strength the TEA Party has achieved, convinced the President that in order to have a shot at remaining in the White House for four more years, he has to appeal to the more conservative portion of the population.

And if you are surprised about the lack of outrage from the Left for the reversal on the Gitmo trials, do not fear. Obama has demonstrated his ability to circumvent the law and the Constitution to achieve his radical agenda. All that this action is designed to achieve is to placate the resistance that Conservative America is sure to be embracing in 2012. Just window dressing.

Eric Holder's whining about the decision is small price to pay for Obama to achieve his goal of remaining in office.

Just my thoughts!
