Finally! Federal Government Taking Down Dangerous Criminals

By Semperpapa

Yes, it is true! Finally the federal government has engaged in the extirpation of a dangerous criminal ring: an Amish farm in rural Pennsylvania.

After months of extensive and exhausting investigation, federal agents executed a 0500 (that’s 5AM) “surprise inspection” of the Rainbow Acres Farm to stop the establishment from selling its dangerous product: non pasteurized milk.

According to the FDA, they consider the product from the farm, which has a market in Maryland and the District of Columbia, a danger to public safety, because non processed milk may contain dangerous bacteria like salmonella and E-coli. It does not matter to the FDA that there have been no complaints made by any of the farm’s willing customers, of sickness or any other problem.

Customers are incensed by the feds move, expressing their displeasure with statements that span from complaining about the overreaching of the government and accusations of the FDA being in bed with large milk producers.

Probably the truth is somewhere in the middle, because it is unclear to me, in the absence of any customer complaint against the farm or its product, why would a federal agency engage in months of investigations, all at taxpayers’ cost, might I add.

Should the federal government occupy itself with more pressing issues like, oh I don’t know, the federal budget? Or maybe the Mexican violence spilling into our borders? Or maybe tracking down Ilsamo-fascists who are hiding out inside our country? Or our Military engagement in two wars? Or maybe the crippling gas prices?

I understand that the contraband sold by the owner of the farm is terribly offensive to the rules and regulation of the federal government, as it probably does not fit well with Michelle Obama’s “everyone eat less but me” agenda, or with the PETA morons, or any of the other progressive ideologies, but months of investigations and raiding an Amish farm at 5 in the morning may appear to be an excessive zeal to some arbitrary rules established by a non-elected entity like the FDA. Not to mention the cost that such lengthy investigation burdened the American people.

I am sure that the President will think about this as he strolls on the golf course.

Just my thoughts!

  1. *grrr* Don't get me started on the FDA...that is a mess and a half of bullshit that has been going on now since about the mid-80s or so that the FDA has been interfering where they shouldn't - and because their very existence is an obvious conflict of interests - they're NOT doing what they ought where it matters.

And to mess with the Amish? *mutter-grumble-mutter*
