I Have A Suggestion For Hoyer
Steny Hoyer, the upcoming minority whip, is not too happy with Obama's announcement that the Military is going to be exempt from the federal government employees pay raise increase freeze.
The President ordered that all federal employees pay raises will be frozen for the next two years, creating a saving of about $5 Billions. He also stated that the US Military will not be subjected to the freeze.
Steny Hoyer countered that Military pay should also be frozen because it would create an even bigger saving and that it would add a sense of fairness.
I would like to suggest a much greater act of fairness: have Steny Hoyer dropped somewhere in the middle of the Helmand Province with a rifle, couple of bottles of water and few MREs.
If he survives more than 48 hours, we will let him back in the United States Congress.
Until then, I don't want to hear any word of judgment about our Military from this blowhard foolish buffoon!

Warning To Incoming Republicans
By Semperpapa
According to an article in The Hill Republican incoming Majority Leader Eric Cantor stated to a group of students at American University that the Republicans plan on keeping some of the provisions of Obamacare, while still aiming at the complete repeal of the legislature.
Two of the provisions reported to have been singled out by the Virginia Congressman were mandated coverage of pre-existing conditions and the coverage, under their parents policy, of children up to 26 years of age.
The article from The Hill was subsequently modified correcting the statement from Cantor. The correction points out that Cantor emphasized the intention of Republicans to repeal the whole existing legislation, while addressing those specific issues in a different way by means of a new bill.
This is all very strange, as the main concern at this time on the part of the newly elected Republicans should be to stop and eliminate Obamacare before it can do more damage that it already has. If there is a bill in the works from the Republicans, and it better be in the works, it should be presented and discussed at the time when it will be ready to be voted on.
Now I don’t know if the misleading on the subject was an attempt of The Hill to place a negative light on Cantor or it was the Congressman slip of the tongue, but I would like to remind the newly elected Republicans that any form of “business as usual” will only result into a similar treatment, as it was imparted to the Democrats on Nov. 2, next elections.
If Cantor and company have not gotten the message, a lot more American people are paying attention to what is happening and our memory is long.

Unemployment The Real Road To Economic Recovery?
By Semperpapa
That’s right, you stupid Americans, at least according to the fools in Congress.
According to Nancy Pelosi, who made similar statement few months ago, and the Democrat senator form Ohio Sherrod Brown, the extension of unemployment benefits should be approved because it is the road to economic recovery.
Because you see, you ignorant masses, people on unemployment are certainly going to spend their money on big tickets items like cars and appliances and vacations (after all they have the time, right?)
I was on unemployment for four months some years back and I can guarantee you, from personal experience, that I barely had enough to cover my living expenses, including providing food and shelter for my family. There was no room for extras.
The truth of the matter is that when you have career politicians who have never held a real job in their lives, who had never had to live on a budget and who have been filling up their coffers with money derived from their sweet corrupted dealings they were able to assure for themselves thanks to their positions of power, it is very difficult to relate to real life.
Can anyone with the financial holdings of Steny Hoyer or Nancy Pelosi ever understand what it means to live on unemployment benefits?
These are the same politicians who they have an abysmal approval ratings and still have the balls to vote a salary increase for themselves. The same amoral individuals who exempt themselves from a disastrous health care reform they impose on the rest of the America people, and who have a guaranteed pension even if they are elected just once.
We started last November 2nd. Now we must work to render these losers unemployed next elections, including Obama.

Careful Which Sleeping Dog You Awaken
There may actually be a collateral advantage derived from the latest actions of the Wikileaks leader Julian Assange.
The latest release of about 250,000 classified documents that uncovered certain somewhat embarrassing details about communications between diplomatic entities world wide, may have awaken some dangerous dogs.
Maybe Assange should have been a little more discerning about the material regarding Hillary Clinton and Vladimir Putin.
One thing is to attack George W. Bush or Condy Rice and even Obama. In the case of the first two, the Left would make sure that the violation of classified material would be hailed as the right of the people, while in the case of Obama and his lack of any resolving drive, there is always the “racist” claim that can be thrown around.
Undermining the US Military is a favorite activity of the American Left, which explains the practical silence from the current progressive leadership in Washington these days, when the Assange character revealed all the previous secret documents regarding our operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
But Assange may have bitten more than he can chew. In publicly embarrassing Hillary, Assange is taking the chance of becoming one of the notches on the woman’s rifle stock.
But even more dangerous for the Wikileaks primadonna is the possibility to get on Putin’s black list. While Assange may receive some sympathy from the politically correct challenged American people, or the British or the Dutch, Putin's Russia would have no qualms about just making the rat plainly disappear, never to be heard again.
The latest report is that the Interpol has issued an order for the arrest of the Assange dude, which would mean that the guy cannot even prance around London without being arrested.
And unless he is on his way to join Osama bin Laden in some cave of Whateverstan, Assange should consider surrendering to Interpol, as that may be his only choice to remain alive.
Sometime we awaken the wrong dog. Julian, you have just done so.

Bad Day In Afghanistan
By Semperpapa
It has been reported that six American soldiers were killed in the eastern part of that country when a Afghan border policeman opened fire on the very troops that was training him.
This is not a new tactic among Afghans, in the majority of the cases such attacks being conducted by Taliban insurgents using uniforms of Afghan police or Army. In this case, though, preliminary accounts say that the perpetrator of the attack was a real border policeman, not someone wearing a stolen uniform.
Such attacks are truly disheartening for our troops in theater and for the families at home, because they are very difficult to defend from, as our Military is expanding and accelerating the training of Afghan forces.
And according to first hand witnesses, border police is probably the most corrupted and volatile force of all.
When my son was deployed to that region, his battalion was based at the southernmost combat outpost in the Helmand province. He and his fellow Marines had to deal with the border police that was “manning” the near border with Pakistan. By his account, any small amount of trust that the Marines had for Afghan military contingents was basically non-existent with the border folks.
Unfortunately, I am afraid such types of attacks will increase in the coming months, as the coalition forces continue to disrupt the drug trade and the Taliban puts additional pressure on the locals.
Other units in the region have been so successful in their drug interdiction operations that the Taliban has been concentrating their attacks against them, resulting in high levels of casualties.
Today was a bad day for the American Military. Losing six men in one attack is heartbreaking.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the Fallen and their Brothers in ArmWashington Springs Into Action, Now That Obama Is Impacted
The reverberation from the latest Wikileaks document dumping is starting to be felt around the world.
Even the so far missing in action Sec. of State Clinton has reappeared to address the damage that some of the documents may be causing.
Working the phones with our so-called allies, Clinton has been attempting to smooth over the potential damage that some of the comments made by State Dept. officials about other countries may be doing to these alliances.
Even Robert “Family Guy” Gibbs made a statement calling the leaking of classified information to the media is a crime. Stunning, isn’t it?
Attorney General Eric Holder has chimed in stating that the Dept. of Justice is investigating the web site responsible for the leaking of these documents.
How interesting this is. When the throng of miscreants led by Julian Assange leaked information that was damaging to George W. there was no reaction.
When the document dumping was potentially aimed at increase the danger to our troops in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, everyone in Washington remained silent.
But let the documents be damaging to the Obama regime and everyone springs into action in the attempt to reduce the potential negative impact on the President.
The latest release of documents impacts many leaders of several countries, and some of the foreign governments have expressed their opinion.
The Italian Foreign Minister, Franco Frattini, went as far as calling the affair the “September 11 of world diplomacy.”
In the aftermath of this bridge of security, it is my hope that the process of safeguarding America’s secrets will receive a substantial re-evaluation. In past conflicts, actions less damaging than this would be countered by a swift application of the law, especially the legal provisions to handle traitors against the Nation at time of war. And yet, Pfc. Bradley Manning, the man responsible for the transfer of all these documents to Wikileaks, is still breathing, awaiting court martial.
So the positive result of this whole mess, if there is one, could be that now that Obama may be impacted, AG Holder may actually do something. Thankfully, Julian Assange is not black or Muslim, so there may actually be a chance that Holder could actually do something.

IAEA Fails Because Of USA
By Semperpapa
Ok, this would be laughable if it was not so outrageous.
According to a representative of the United Nations nuclear watchdog, the agency is so under funded (which really translates in America does not pay enough) that it may very well happen that the world could see an undetected proliferation of nuclear activities.
The IAEA representative, one Olli Heinonen compared the “dire” financial conditions of the agency to the collapse of financial institutions in 2008, certainly a coincidental reference to the “crisis” that propelled a massive bailout at the expenses of the American taxpayers. But I digress.
The so called experts are sounding the alarm about the possibility of a nuclear arm race in areas affected by certain nations having nuclear capability. The allusion is clearly directed at the acquisition, in short time, of nuclear weapons on the part of Iran. None of the countries surrounding the rogue regime of Teheran is happy that a nut case like Ahmedinejad would be in possession of nuclear weapons.
But the problem, according to these “experts” is that the lack of sufficient funding for the IAEA could make things worst.
Mark Fitzpatrick, of the International Institute for Strategic Studies, is one who is warning that the IAEA will have many more potential sites to oversee across the globe, as many countries will embark on a race to avoid lagging behind technologically to nations already in possession of nuclear technology.
What these people are doing is to send a message of doom to the American people and their leaders, all in the name of plundering more money from the American taxpayers.
And what do we have as an example of the work of the IAEA so far to inspire the American people to fork out more money? How about Iran? Maybe North Korea?
Fitzpatrick acknowledges that the IAEA has had some failures, but he is also quick to state that the failures of the UN agency were caused by the lack of proper tools and the proper authority to perform their job. Of course, not their fault, but the fault of all the nations, especially the United States.
Fitzpatrick also defends the accomplishments of the agency in delineating the violations of agreements of the Iranian nuclear program for the last 20 years. I am really impressed.
I would like to find out what has been the cost of these findings to the American taxpayers, because I would be interested in knowing how much money was spent to achieve practically nothing, considering that the Teheran insane asylum is ever closer to achieve nuclear capabilities, while Kim Jong Il already possess them.
The increase in the agency budget is to be shared by all nations, with 25% of the total being contributed to by the United States (surprise, surprise!), but many countries are opposed to it due to the current economic priorities they are faced with. But Obama wants to double that budget in the next four years.
I find also ironic that the American people are subjected to such doom scenario pressure at a time when the liberal leadership of the country is pushing for the ratification of the START treaty with Russia, a treaty that would further prohibit the United States to remain vigilant against nuclear foes and maintain an adequate level of deterrence against the big boys out there like Russia and China.
So in reality what we are seeing is a President and a political ruling class that is in line with reducing our National capability while increase our support for a failed and corrupted international agency.
Or more like the further relinquishing of our sovereignty to be replaced by dependency on international law.
The IAEA, as much as its parent organization United Nations, is nothing more than an international scam directed at the realization of the dreaded New World Order. Its inefficiency, and the passive policies of appeasement that have plagued many world leaders and exacerbated by Obama, has created the fertile environment for a major world conflict. And done so on the dime of the American people.
Now they have the audacity of accusing us of not giving enough and the Obama regime appears to be in agreement.

Wikileaks Is Getting To Be Annoying Now
The new release of about 250,000 classified documents on the part of the bottom feeders at Wikileaks is in process now.
Personally, I just had about enough of this congregation of anarchists so hell bent on creating a global state of chaos, as if the current economic conditions have not been enough.
This latest scam on the part of the whistleblower web site is dedicated to the publication of secret and confidential diplomatic correspondence that was intended to remain out of the public knowledge.
Correspondence between embassies officials and the State Dept., or between officials of the State Dept. and foreign officials is at time done on the spur of the moment and in response to specific events. In any case, there are reasons why these communications, and everything else classified as secret, are deemed necessary to keep out of public knowledge.
In the majority of instances, such information is a matter of national security and becoming public could result in loss of the intelligence necessary to protect public safety.
The latest charade of Julian Assange is designed to show the chaotic international political scene. In reality, just as the scope was with the publication of secret documents about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, it is directed at fueling an international opposition to the United States and its Allies.
Personally, I could care less about any embarrassment some politician would be subjected to, as in the majority of cases they would most likely deserve it.
Where I have a problem, and a visceral one, is when the publication of certain secret documents would increase the danger to the lives of our Military, intelligence operatives and anti-terrorist operatives.
There are many individuals out in the world who are working diligently in countering the threats that our enemy represents. They are stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place as they have a ruthless enemy in front of them and a limp, weak and non-supportive political leadership at home.
Our Military is basically in the same place, as they are fighting a merciless enemy on one side and a Commander-in-Chief who has no real interest in reaching a victorious end to the fight against global terrorism.
European newspapers are beginning to publish the latest documents leaked while the American newspapers are following suit.
The NY Times is telling its readers, all five of them, that they are publishing the material because they feel that the American people are entitled to know what the government is doing in their name and to shed a light on the process the government follows to make decisions that affect the country.
In reality, the NY Times has never relinquished its part in publishing material harmful to America and especially the American Armed Forces, but until now, it had been mostly done to damage a Republican President, especially George W. Bush. The fact that the Times is doing this under the Obama regime and after being the mouth piece of this President, is testimony to the loss of hold Obama has suffered and the need for the Times to try to increase their circulation. Basically a purely economic reason that trampled their ideological adoration of Obama.
Finally, few words about the two people whose name is attached to these leaks.
Julian Assange, head of Wikileaks. I am so discouraged by the fact that this sub-human has not yet reached room temperature. In his effort to "uncover injustice" and "stop these wars" he is taking the chance of undermining already fragile political interactions across the globe. So there is a very good chance that this man's hunger for relevance, that his desire to see his face on news pages across the world could have the opposite result. Many more conflicts and many more lives could be the results of his actions.
Army Pvt. Bradley Manning. A 22-year old soldier who was able to accumulate all the information that he eventually passed to Assange. He has been in custody for several months now, awaiting court martial. This is a person who should be made an example of when it comes to treasonous conduct against our country at a time of war. It is my hope that both he and Assange may, at some early point in time, have to answer for their actions to a higher court.
And the gates of Hell will open up for them.

When The Truth Hurts, Just Give It A New Name
By Semperpapa
By now we should all be aware of the terror plot that was thwarted in Oregon yesterday, but, just in case, here is the scoop.
Federal agents arrested a Somali-born, US naturalized teenager who had been plotting for months to detonate a car bomb during the official lighting of the Christmas tree in Portland, Oregon.
Agents had interdicted the teenager, Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, last June during his planning of the attack and finally arrested him on Friday as he was frantically dialing his detonator cell phone. He had just driven a van loaded with what he believed to be explosives to the place where thousands of people were gathered for the annual tree-lighting ceremony.
According to reports from the FBI agent in change Arthur Balizan, the young man was absolutely determined to conduct the attack and impervious to the possibility of killing scores of innocent people, including many children. At the time of his arrest, Mohamud resisted the agents attempting to kick them.
He is now charged with attempt use of use of a weapon of mass destruction, which carries a statutory life sentence.
So these are the facts. I am sure that there are many more details that are not being divulged to the Media. At least I am hoping that the long surveillance of the guy has netted a good amount of intelligence useful to the prevention of further attacks.
Having read reports of this new terror threat against American innocent population, I found something missing in them that is a disturbing sign of the attitude that authorities and the Media have taken toward this whole affair.
The NY Times dedicated an Associated Press 925 word article to it as did Fox News, the Oregonian another 968 words and CNN approximately the same amount of words.
In all the thousand of words written about this incident, there were two that appear to be conspicuously absent: Islamic Radical.
The only reference that the articles would make of the motivations behind Mohamud’s ferocious determination to slaughter scores of innocent civilians is the report of his yelling of “Allah Akbar” as he was trying to detonate the explosives.
Such an expression being the invocation of Islamic radical terrorist as they conduct their murderous plots, we can safely assume that the 19 year old Somali is one of the followers of the religion of peace.
Information about the case and the arrest was provided to the Associated Press and the Oregonian by Oregon U.S. Attorney Dwight Holton who released also the following statement:
"This defendant's chilling determination is a stark reminder that there are people -- even here in Oregon -- who are determined to kill Americans. The good work of law enforcement protected Oregonians in this case -- and we have no reason to believe there is any continuing threat arising from this case."
The part that struck me about the statement is the “even here in Oregon” one. What does such statement really mean? Is Mr. Holton surprised that such a terrorist plot would be planned in a part of the country so far from the usual centers of interests for terrorists, like New York or Washington DC? Are we really that naïve?
Or is the statement related to the overwhelming liberal political leaning of that part of the country, which should have exonerated it from the hatred of Islamic jihad?
The truth of the matter is that the danger of Islamic radicalism is a reality across our Nation. We are increasingly seeing U.S. citizens becoming perpetrators or wannabe perpetrators of mass murder within our borders, and the reality is that authorities in charge of protecting us are trying their best to defuse these attacks, even as they are impeded at every step by civil liberty proponents (i.e. ACLU) to secure the safety of the people.
Officials from the Obama administration are somewhat shocked by the latest discovery that the forces of Islamic Jihad are very active in recruitment of potential terrorists within America, but is reality the progressive immigration agenda pursued by the government for many years now, combined with the continuous denial of the intrinsic link between radical Muslims, Shariah Law and terrorism, have created the perfect breeding grounds for internal jihad.
In closing, it has also been reported that Mohamud was a student at a local university, which explains, somewhat, the even more profound radicalization of the individual, to the point of wanting to kill hundreds or thousand of innocent people.
The truth is apparent. We are facing a threat within our borders that many, including myself, have been warning about for some time now. The American people are still not fully aware of the level of risk we are in, either because of misinformation or because of politically correct sanitizing of the truth.
The aim on the part of this administration, even more than it was for the Bush administration, is to take the truth about the threat that uncontrolled Islamic radicalism represents and just give it a different name.
The Obama crowd cannot even define our enemy as Islamic radicalism, changing instead its name to al Qaeda or Taliban, completely overlooking the totality of the problem we face as a society.
The approach of “ignore it and maybe it’ll go away” is definitely not working and it will be costly.

Law Breaking Or Presidential Approval: Misuse Of The Presidential Seal
By Semperpapa
On November 19, I wrote a piece indicating the danger that John Podesta and his progressive think tank represents for America.
What I indicated was Podesta and the Center for American Progress latest policy publication that urges the President to impose his progressive agenda upon the people of the United States via means that circumvent the powers of Congress and the will of the people. Even more disturbing, was the suggestion that Obama would use his position of Commander-in-Chief to use the Armed Forces against the American people.
Today there is another controversy surrounding the latest publication of Podesta’s so-called organization.
It appears that the said publication uses the Seal Of the United States President to promote its policy paper.
The use of the official seal is restricted by law. Its use is relegated to the President or to officials speaking specifically for the President. Special dispensation is required for the use of the seal.
In the case of the Center for American Progress, there are two possibilities.
One is that the Center is clearly breaking the law, attempting to use the seal as mean to entice its supporters to believe that the provisions called out by the publication are endorsed by the White House.
The other is that Obama has actually given its seal of approval to those provisions.
In the first case, it is an open and blatant disregard of the rule of law. I understand that such style is not a surprise coming from the American Left, but that being the case the Justice Dept. should promptly take action against the infringement.
On the other hand, if the use of the seal was approved by the White House, the underlined message would be that the President is approving and supporting a policy that is aimed at circumventing and bypassing provisions designed to stifle the government oppression of its people.
Looking into the matter is a conservative organization called Americans for Limited Government, who is calling on the Department of Justice to look into the misuse of the President’s seal.
Podesta’s group, when asked, only stated that they had purchased the photo from a news agency.
What we are seeing is the typical actions of totalitarian progressives. Just the open disregard for the law, as long as it furthers their agenda, is the bread and butter of the internal enemies of the country.
And for anyone who believes that this is not a big issue, one only has to look at the policies that the publication invokes.
Final question now is weather Eric Holder’s Justice Dept. will actually do anything about it, including any sort of investigation. If I was a betting man, I would bet on the corrupt Holder will do what he does best, which is absolutely nothing.
Just as in the case of the Black Panthers, the agenda of the Left will trump on the rule of law and those with ill intentions toward our Republic will be able to score another victory.

California Rush Toward The Abyss
By Semperpapa
Sadly, as the rest of the Nation is revitalized by the results of last elections, here in California we have moved from a steady, calculated walk toward socio-economic devastation of this once glorious state to a down right chaotic rush.
The ignorant, misguided people of California have elected Moonbeam Brown for governor; they have re-elected the corrupted and moronic Barbara Boxer to the US Senate; they have re-elected clowns like Maxine Waters and Henry Waxman; they have elected the ultra-progressive Gavin Newsome to the position of Lt. Governor.
Today, the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Kamala Harris has won the election for State Attorney General, after a drawn out recount of the votes and the concession of her opponent Steve Cooley.
The newspaper’s article is emphasizing the “good” qualities of this woman, starting with the fact that she is the first black, Indian-American woman to hold that office. Union leaders, gay activists and druggies are all hailing the victory of Harris, as are gang bangers, eco-terrorists and illegal aliens.
It also brings up the fact that she is against the death penalty, she is in favor of gay marriage and in support of medical marijuana, besides being an environmental activist supporter.
Ms. Harris based her campaign on her intention to join Gov. Brown in not defending Prop. 8 in court. The proposition, which would ban gay marriage, was widely passed by the people of the state in a past election and promptly challenged in state court on the basis of constitutionality.
Regardless of personal feelings on the subject, the fact that alleged sworn elected officials would openly disregard the will of the people and purposely act against it is a reality of the progressive decadence that this state has fallen into.
The environmental activism she champions is also slated to aggravate the current economic disaster of the state, as her pledge to pursue “vigorously” environmental issues, which really translates into a police state style persecution and over-regulation, will certainly have the consequence of driving even more small businesses out of California.
And if the people of California, at least those who still have few brain cells working, were hoping for an attorney General who would join so many others to challenge Obamacare, those hopes have been completely compromised by Harris’ victory, as she has sustained in her campaign that she would not challenge the disastrous health care reform (not surprising, considering that she is from the same conclave of liberalism Nancy Pelosi comes from).
Well, there we have it. A once world economic power that was California, reduced to a conglomeration of pure progressive activism, where criminals have friends in powerful places and soon will have a complete run of the state. The failed policies of San Francisco will now be extended to the rest of California, with law abiding citizens becoming the criminals and gangs, unions and illegal aliens gaining free rein in their take over of the state.

A Thanksgiving Message
By Semperpapa
In the context of a lifetime, a year is but a small portion, but in the case of my personal life, one year makes a world of difference. Especially the past year.
When I came to the United States 31 years ago, I had to slowly learn the true significance of the holiday of Thanksgiving. As the years churned by, the real meaning of this celebration started to take form, especially following the birth of my children.
While my gratitude for the privilege of being an American is a daily mental presence, the solemnity of Thanksgiving Day is just a special occasion for me to really think about all that I have to say thanks for.
This year, the significance of the day is even more pronounced. And the difference 12 months have made in my life is impossible to underestimate.
A year ago, my son had just left for his deployment to Afghanistan. It was an especially hard time for my family and me personally, as not only for the first time since he was born he would not be with me on that day, but also there was the continuous mind-bending concern for his safety.
A year ago, I was thankful every single time I would hear that some form of communication had been received from that far away place.
Twelve months later, that nightmare is over and once again my Marine will be with us.
A year ago I was grandfather of one baby. Anyone who thinks that a person cannot love anybody as much as one’s own child does not have grandchildren, as the love I feel for my grandkids is nothing less.
Twelve months later, I have a second grandson. And suddenly life without this little guy is unthinkable.
A year ago, my daughter was stuck in a job she hated, frustrated and unhappy. I know her capabilities and work ethics, so seeing her so dissatisfied was painful.
Twelve months later, she is working for a much more professional organization, succeeding as she is capable to and, even with the normal ups and downs of the four letter word that is “work”, much more satisfied.
This year, my Thanksgiving Day is that much more important. I have my health, but most of all every member of my family is healthy.
I could never express enough thanks to my God for giving me the people in my life: my wife, my children, my son-in-law and my daughter-in-law and my two splendid grandsons. But He knows what is in my heart.
And I would be at great fault if I did not express my gratitude for living in this great Nation, protected so selflessly by the men and women in uniform. I thank God for them.
So Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. May you have a day of peace and love.

...Behind Door Number One, War!
By Semperpapa
The world has been playing this game for a long time now. Appease the tyrant of the day in hope that he will see the light.
It was done with Hitler, resulting in the bloodiest conflict in the history of mankind.
It was done with Saddam Hussein and it resulted in the dictator becoming even more emboldened.
It is been done with Iran and North Korea, and the results have not hit the West with the potential devastation we may be facing.
We are witnessing today another reckless behavior on the part of Kim Jong Il in North Korea, who is once again flexing his aging muscles and creating a potentially explosive situation in the Asian peninsula.
Last March, a NK torpedo struck and sunk a SK warship costing the lives of over 40 sailors, and yet the reaction of the leadership of the South was once again unable to formulate a relevant response, definitely not helped by the lack of resolution coming from the United States and the United Nations.
What I see as a stumbling point of this whole affairs is the approach taken by the international community in regard to the NK dictator.
Every time Kim wants to get more foreign aid into his coffers, all he has to do is to start some small scale conflict in the region. As a result, the United Nations just sends more financial aid and the little guy goes back into his palace.
The travesty is that the money Kim receives from the world community slated to help his people survive the state of popular starvation the country is in, goes to enhance the dictator’s decadent life style and to accumulate even more nuclear technology. Meanwhile, the people of North Korea, completely isolated from the rest of the world, continue to starve to death, literally.
The last few days have seen yet another attempt from Kim to provoke the UN into more financial aid by attacking the South with artillery. And it looks like this latest provocation will have, once again, the desired effect.
After the sinking of the South Korean warship in March and the recent discovery of some secret, fully operational uranium enrichment facility, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon is planning to give NK a new round of monetary aid.
The plan, according to a confidential memo from the Sec. General, is to convince other nations of the importance of engaging NK in a peaceful, diplomatic manner.
While the posture of the United Nations should be one of “no access-no aid” meaning that the international organization must have access to the recipient nation’s process of disposition of aids, in the case of North Korea, Ki-moon recognizes that the effort is a very challenging one, as Kim Jong Il has forced the UN into a process of “no aid-no access”.
In the memo, Ki-moon is delineating procedures aimed at convincing nations to contribute more toward the new aids he wants to send to NK in the hope that it will convince the little dictator to allow international access to insure that the aid goes to the desperate people.
Of course this latest attempt on the part of the absolutely useless United Nations will rest on the same heap of loosing propositions as all the others in the past.
Most likely, Kim needs some cash infusion for the lavish inauguration of his little unsuccessful abortion of a son into power.
The United States has, meantime, announced that the USS Washington Carrier Group is steaming toward the area west of the Korean peninsula to participate in a joint military training exercise with the naval forces of South Korea. This move was not welcomed by the Chinese military upper echelons, who stated that the move, considering the “sensitive” nature of the area, would not be good for relations between the US and China.
Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff, Adm. Mullen, responded that the area where the Carrier group will operate is in international waters and therefore not subject to restrictions for the US Navy.
So here we are, facing the conundrum that should have never gotten this far. We are in front of the proverbial doors, from which we have to choose.
Behind door number one is the status quo. Let’s keep on feeding this beast, appease his destructive goals and allow China to perpetuate this murderous satellite nation until they will cause another major conflict.
Behind door number two is making a stand against the NK regime now, taking the chance to fuel a direct confrontation with China.
There is no door number three!
US officials, including President Obama, and leaders of South Korea and Japan are calling on China leadership to place restraining pressure on Jong, but the prospect of any good will move on the part of Beijing is definitely a long shot, as the Chinese regime has been increasing the political and economic communication with Pyongyang.
History teaches us that appeasement of self-destructing, blood thirsty dictators always results in catastrophic consequences. In the case of North Korea, I am afraid, appeasement has been going on for so long that trying to reverse it now will result in a rekindling of a conflict that never really ended.
What make things even worst is that both North Korea and China are much more powerful today.

Don't Tell Us, Just Surprise Us
Oh Poor Nancy...
I am really concern about the mental state of Nancy pelosi, who, starting next January, will have to fly back and forth from Washington to San Francisco on commercial flights.
Naturally, she will be flying 1st class, so she will not have to endure the presence of commoners so close to her.
She also will not have to endure any of the enhanced security, scanning or groping, that the rest of us have to.
And fortunately, she will be able to have on borad with her the armed security detail tot protect her majesty in case some one gets a little frisky.
Interestingly, the security officers on her detail will be allowed to carry weapons to protect her ass, a priviledge she denies to any other law abiding citizen of San Francisco.

N. Korea Attacks S. Korea...Again
Well the famous "3 AM" phone call came to Obama as the news of the artillery attack from North Korea against a small South Korean island took place.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101123/ap_on_re_as/as_koreas_clash
The response from the White House was fairly swift via WH spokesman Robert Gibbs who stated a stern condemnation of the NK attack and a warning that the US is standing behind their ally.
All fine and dandy, but the glitch in the whole thing is that the fat cats of the useless United Nations are calling for an emergency meeting.
That always spells doom, as the behavior of North Korea is the way China conduct its dirty business.
When we refuse to learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it, and as President Reagan would say "Here we go again"

Land Of The Loons, Home Of The Absurd
By Semperpapa
Yes, I am referring to the United States of America anti-terrorist posture fostered by the current Dept. of Homeland Security and impersonated by its fearless leader Janet Napolitano.
The News lately has been saturated by the TSA new “techniques” of passenger search.
These are the options offered to the American travelers:
Walk through a full body scanner that takes a revealing picture of the person, or being patted down in a very intrusive manner by a TSA officer.
Ok, I am all in favor of making sure that the airliners can get to their destination without being inconvenienced by some terrorist blowing up his or her crotch in the name of Allah, but I find the approach taken by Napolitano to be lacking common sense.
The folks in the business in Washington should be working overtime to develop a much less loony way to address security in airports.
In the case of the body scan, I cannot see the reason behind the necessity for the images to be recorded and stored any place for any length of time.
In the case of the “aggressive” pat down of travelers, I think it could be safe to say that grabbing the private parts of toddlers and senior citizens may be stretching authority a bit much.
And if that was not enough to qualify the whole thing for a padded room at the local insane asylum, the level of absurdity skyrocketed the moment that CAIR got involved in the controversy.
According to the Council on American Islamic Relations, both methods used by TSA to screen passengers are against the teachings of Islam and that women should refuse to subject themselves to them.
In a press release, CAIR is accusing the TSA to use the new techniques to single out Muslims, of which I guess the proof was the aggressive pat down of the young crying toddler shown on a video, and it is instructing Muslim women the following:
"They should not subject you to a full-body or partial body pat-down."
"Instead of the pat-down, you can always request to pat down your own scarf, including head and neck area and have the officers perform a chemical swipe of your hands."
Basically, Muslim women would conduct a self security check, not allowing the TSA officer to touch them.
It does not take a particularly elevated sense of security awareness to realize that the demand of CAIR for Muslim women to search themselves is a definite step into the realm of lunacy. But the even remote hint to the fact that Napolitano may be considering CAIR demand, reminds us that the current politically correct crowd in charge in Washington has taken the Nation into a parallel universe of absurdity.
In the first place, the scope of a security check is for someone other than the person searched to insure that no illegal or offensive material is present on the person.
I wonder if such consideration would be given to members of the Westboro Baptist Church, for example, who may contend that being patted down by officers of the same gender would be offensive to their profound hate for homosexuals. I seriously doubt it.
Secondly, considering the reality that all these extra precautions are the result of attacks perpetrated by members of the Islamic religion, misguided or not, giving such a preferential treatment to the same, just boggles the mind of any common sense person.
The mere fact that DHS is even considering such a special treatment toward Muslims indicates that there is some office worm, somewhere in Washington, trying to come up with a policy justification aimed at obfuscate the facts and indicate that anyone opposed to such policy should be considered as islamophobic. Cowering dissenters into a sense of self-guilt is the mantra of the progressive crowd that unfortunately is running the show these days.
All this non-sense is the result of the cancer that has and will kill many Americans: political correctness. We are today living in a world where nothing is what it is, provided that some minority says so and brings accusations of discrimination.
The solution of the problem is in the new evil that the Left has created for public consumption: profiling.
In order to insure thugs like the terrorist sympathizers of CAIR to be happy, we are subjected to completely unreasonable procedures in order to get on an airplane.
To make sure that Ahmed from Somalia feelings are not “offended” we subject 3-years olds to frightening extensive pat downs, we subject 80-year old grandmas to invasive and offensive and unnecessary grabbing and groping. All the while we are even considering giving a pass to burqa wearing Muslims.
Yes, my fellow patriots, I am convinced that the security of our Nation and the safety of our families is residing in the hands of a complete crowd of buffoons, with absolutely no clue of what the job entails and with only one preoccupation: to make America subservient to Islam.

Why Should The START Treaty Be A No Start
By Semperpapa
President Obama is making a extraordinary push to gain the support of the U.S. Senate for the START accord with Russia. According to the provisions of this latest treaty for the reduction of nuclear weapons between the United States and Russia, there would be a drastic reduction of nuclear weapons and verification. At least that is the intention of the treaty.
Proponents for the deal can be found on the Democrat side of the Senate, for the simple reason that they want to support Obama’s agenda or because they are ideologically opposed to the whole idea of nuclear weaponry.
Obama wants this treaty for the same reasons. Personally it would be considered by the Left as a victory scored by a President that has so far very little to show for his international policy efforts. Ideologically, it would satisfy Obama’s desire for a drastic reduction of the American nuclear capability.
The President does have some supporters in this matter among the Republican senators too. One of those who the administration targeted to support the ratification and to be able to bring additional Republicans with him was Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl.
When during his visit to Korea last week Obama met with Russian President Medvedev behind close doors, the discussions also included START.
The importance of Sen. Kyl’s support was underlined by White House officials traveling to Arizona at the time that the meeting with the Russians was taking place, to brief the senator about the discussions.
The chances of success for the President are today even more remote. The major loss of the November elections in the Senate translates in the need for Obama to get the treaty ratified during the lame duck session. The President has until January to even consider the possibility of gaining support from enough Republicans to achieve the 2/3 majority necessary. Once the newly elected Republican Senators are sworn in, that possibility will become that much harder to achieve.
Senatorial position over START had not been generally guided by party affiliations, until the President had signed the treaty last summer. At that time, Russia placed a condition on Obama upon its ratification. The condition was that the United States would have to desist from installing a missile defense system in Europe. The contention was that with such systems in place, America would in fact have a protective umbrella that would allow it, America, to do what ever they wanted. Such was the opinion of Vladmir Putin.
The Obama administration caved in the Russian pressure, and the President scrapped the missile defense initiative slated to be positioned in Poland.
In an op-ed last August, Sen. Jim DeMint explained why he and others were opposed to START. The provisions of the treaty allowed for the reduction of strategic nuclear weapons to a 1,550 level for both countries.
The problem, though, is that no provision has been designed to address the tactical nukes level and some other details that will still maintain a 10:1 Russian advantage over the US in number of nuclear armament.
In the first place, says DeMint, while the US missiles are armed with single warhead, the Russians have multiple re-entry deliverable warheads. Much more difficult to handle technically, but still available for Putin and company to use.
Also mentioned in the treaty is the reduction of delivery systems, beyond missiles. Many of our delivery vehicles, like bombers, are used also in the conventional arena of warfare, although they can be quickly adapted to carry nuclear weapons. The treaty would also address such vehicles, greatly undermining our conventional readiness.
On the same day that Sen. DeMint wrote his article against START, Sen. John Kerry wrote one in support of it.
Personally, just the alone fact that Kerry is a fan of the treaty lends me to believe that START is not good for America, but in the name of fairness, an a little bit of self-amusement, I read the words of the Mass. Senator.
Kerry mentions that every President has signed treaties with the former Soviet Union and today’s Russia directed at the reduction of the nuclear threat. Failure to mention that in each instance the Kremlin has notoriously cheated on the treaties is to be expected from Kerry.
The treaty, according to the senator, will improve relations between the two countries and stifle the chances for rogue regimes and terrorist cell to acquire the weapons. But the past treaties have really not worked out that well in the case of North Korea and especially Iran, as the world is today facing a nuclear threat from these regimes.
Iran is just a short time away from having nuclear weapons capability, technology that the Russians have greatly facilitated the Teheran theocracy in acquiring, and if anyone believes that reducing our capability is the right way to go, I would suggest you start digging your personal nuclear shelter soon.
The latest on the ratification is that Sen. Kyl is now, as a consequence of the elections, more inclined to defer the process until the new Congress is seated in January, citing that with so many new Republicans joining the Senate, it is necessary that the issue be re-evaluated. Obama and Kerry are instead pushing hard to go for a vote before the end of 2010.
VP Joe Biden also has recently stated that the ratification vote should take place this year, declaring that a failure to do so will endanger National security. Reading between the lines, Biden’s statement is designed to give the impression that those who will be sworn in as senators in January are opposed to the safety of the Nation. Which brings me to another question.
If START is so good for America, why all the rush? The powers to be should be more than capable to present the case to the new Senate in January and win the support of the necessary Republicans for its ratification.
If START is so good for America, it should have been a point of pressure for Obama on the Republicans well before the mid-term elections, when the chance of winning support was greater. Now that such chance has turned sour, the danger of cataclysmic consequences became much more important for the current regime.
In reality, the whole thing rests on the need for Obama to score some perceived big diplomatic victory for his foreign policy. The treaty has no real value in reducing the threat of a rogue nuclear attack against the United States, nor to reduce the threat of an attack from Russia. What it does have, instead, is all the markings of a political move aimed at sacrificing our ability to defend ourselves against our old foe. The sacrifice of an entire Nation to the altar of Obama.

John Podesta, A Very Dangerous Man
By Semperpapa
I am sure that this is all in the name of egalitarianism and the community of people, not to mention that he is one that knows best.
His name is John Podesta and he is the head of a group called Center for American Progress. And he is a dangerous man.
John Podesta became a familiar name during the Clinton presidency when he became Chief of Staff at the White House.
Of course Podesta is also a professor at the Georgetown University Law Center, which also explains once more why the generation of college students we witness today has a generally negative image of our country. It is thanks to dangerous docents like John Podesta.
During the Bush administration, the American Left, including the ultra-progressive Podesta, had accused the President to engage in policy aimed at placing the White House above the law, above Congress and above the will of the American people.
Practically, President Bush was continuously charged with the intention of making himself into a dictator, bypassing the Constitution and the powers of elected officials (Congress).
Podesta was one of the more pungent voices in the attacks against the President.
It is therefore sort of surprising that the former Chief of Staff of a US President, that such a vocal enemy of Presidential over reaching, that such a critic of bureaucratic fiat would actually suggest the current President to bypass the Congress and realize his agenda via agency action. But that is exactly what John Podesta is counseling Obama to do. And in the case of Podesta, not surprising at all.
In a report authored by Podesta that the Center for American Progress sent to Obama last Tuesday, Podesta calls on Obama to take all the necessary steps to circumvent the Legislative Branch of our government in order to achieve the President’s agenda.
The report was triggered by the beating that the Democrats, and indirectly Obama, took in the November 2nd elections, defeat that has reshaped both the House and the Senate in a non favorable way to Obama, ushering in a potential era of political fighting with the Executive Branch.
The results of the elections clearly assigned a mandate to the Republicans that the American people want them to oppose the reckless agenda of the President, and yet Obama and Pelosi and Reid still fail to recognize the fact, abhorring the idea that the American people may actually want to have a say in the vicissitudes of our country.
So Podesta is coming to the President aid with this report.
Here are some exerts:
“I think most of the conversation since the election has been about how President Obama adjusts to the new situation on Capitol Hill, While that’s an important conversation, it simply ignores the president’s ability to use all levels of his power and authority to move the country forward.”
Podesta is telling Obama that even as the call for the President to finally begin to listen to the people was loud and clear, it is more important that the President would employ all his power to ignore it. And the mention of moving the country forward is nothing more than euphemism for taking the Nation to a Marxist regime level.
“As noted in the Constitution and the laws of the United States give the president the ability and the responsibility to act as the chief executive using authorities granted to all presidents such as executive orders, rule-makings, agency management and public-private partnerships.”
The report also points out that the President has the power, as Commander-in-Chief, to utilize the Armed Forces for the pursuit of his agenda, hinting that it would be acceptable to send the American Military against the population that is unwilling to surrender to a tyrannical government. This is particularly disturbing coming from someone like Podesta, who headed the Obama transition team in 2008 and who has the financial backing of our friend George Soros.
And this is just a portion of the report from Podesta that details the steps that the White House should take to insure the success of the march toward Communism.
The suggestions made by Podesta are strikingly hypocritical. He was one of those who cried foul the loudest when Bush issued Executive Orders that were designed to safeguard the security of our Nation at a time of war. Those Executive Orders were a slippery slope toward totalitarianism.
Obama’s use of EO to impose his destructive agenda would be justified by the need to take the country forward. How convenient is that!
But what Podesta himself, just like Obama, does not realize is that the voices heard in Washington on November 2nd were not of ignorant and unwashed peasants of some middle-of-the-country hillbilly community. But they were the voices of the majority of the American people.
What Podesta is suggesting, if actually followed by the President, will have the result of angering the people even more, which could translate into the Democrats and Obama himself being shown the exit door in 2012.
In conclusion, for all those Republicans who still contend that compromising with Liberals is the way to achieve or maintain political power, I give you a warning.
The stupid American people are paying a lot more attention to what is affecting our economy and security. We the People do not want compromises. We want the Fascist hordes of Obama and Podesta and Soros to just be defeated and go away in the sunset…for good. So if you don’t want to join them, resolve to do the job you were elected to do.

Another Failure For Obama And Holder?
By Semperpapa
After seven days of deliberation, a civilian jury found Ahmed Ghailani not guilty on more than 280 charges in his participation in the bombing of the US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
The judge in the case had earlier prohibited the prosecution from bringing a witness to testify because the name of the witness had been obtained during “harsh” interrogations conducted on Ghailani by the CIA.
The defense had portrayed Ghailani as a misguided child who had been a victim of al Qaeda and of the CIA who framed him with tainted evidences.
This is just another defeat for Obama and Holder in their efforts to bring terrorists in civilian courts for trial.
AG Holder has repeatedly stated that civilian courts are more than apt to win convictions against terrorists, but it sure looks like Holder’s assertion fell short in this case.
Apologists for Obama and his goons may call this a defeat for Obama and his attempt to greater fairness toward our enemies, but is it really?
It has been my conviction for a while that there is a pervading push, on the part of the administration, to do whatever necessary to avoid just punishment for Muslim terrorists.
My thoughts and prayers go to the families of those who were murdered in the bombings of the Embassies as they are the latest victims of the criminal behavior of American leadership.
There is one hopeful silver lining. Even if the regime led Media is purposely scantly covering this travesty, enough people will know the turn of events and a public uproar will occur when the corrupted Holder will try to bring Khalid Sheik Mohamed’s trial to New York.
One can only hope these days.

Who Gets The Royal Waiver?
By Semperpapa
As bits and pieces of the Obamacare disaster become known and take effect upon the American people, the destructive nature of the legislation becomes increasingly disturbing for both corporations and American individuals.
But there appears to be a way out, at least for selected entities.
As reported and investigated by Michelle Malkin, the Obama regime has granted waivers to about 111 different companies. Basically, these companies are going to be exempted from having to comply with the fascist provisions of the legislation.
Couple of months ago, the fast food giant McDonald was able to secure a waiver from the White House after announcing that the company was going to be forced to drop the coverage of about 30,000 employees.
Many of the other 111 organizations that have so far been able to purchase a waiver from Obama, many are labor unions.
That is an obvious payback that the regime, from Obama to Congress, is giving these organizations for the thug-like support that the unions have given to liberals.
Waivers have been given to restaurant chains and cable franchises, all on the basis that the companies would only be able to provide affordable health care coverage for their employees if allowed to opt out of the provisions of Obamacare.
My question at this point is this: how do I get a royal wave?
By the look of things, it remains a mystery to me how can the political leadership in favor of the camouflaged provisions of the legislation can with a straight face tell the American people that the so-called reform is in the best interest of the people.
In the first place, if this is such a good law for the people, why is then Congress exempting itself from it?
Moreover, there is no possibility for thinking Americans not to question the assertion, on the part of labor unions leaderships, that Obamacare is such a great step for the people of America, while at the same time finding out that many of these unions are granted waivers from it.
What it really comes down to, just as it was in the days of Mussolini and Hitler and Stalin, a totalitarian regime is one that affords special treatment to those entities that promote the enlargement of governmental control over the people. Similarly, the Obama regime is willing and able to impart a preferential treatment to those organizations that most likely will bring a benefit to it.
After the results of the last elections, the message should have been clear to the administration, provided that Obama would actually listen to the American people.
The farce that Obamacare represents has been rejected by the majority of the American people. As time goes by, the fatal words of Nancy Pelosi ring into my ears: you have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it. And those words are literally enraging for those Americans who sounded the alarm two years ago.
Well, the bill has been passed and nothing from it that has become known is good or exciting for the people and the industry.
So what we have left today is to either hope that the royal waivers keep on coming, so that all people get one, or that those politicians who were elected last Nov. 2nd will actually do the business of the people and work incessantly to get the awful legislation repealed.
Just my thoughts!
