Already Liking What I See

By Semperpapa

I am already enjoying what I hear and read about the new Congressmen from Florida and South Carolina, Lt.Col. Allen West and Tim Scott.

In a combined appearance on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News, the two newly elected Congressmen spoke of the attempt on the part of the liberal progressive to paint the TEA movement as a racist one.
Mr. West said that the accusation has been proven wrong and that proceeded to state what many of us have been contending since the 2008 Presidential campaign.
The opposition to Obama has nothing to do with the color of his skin, but in today’s America, in order to advance the forces of Progressivism, the use of the “racist” accusation is one that has worked countless times. The result is that the label of “racist” has completely lost its effect, as the American people appear to be less inclined to be bullied into guilt-ridden, politically correct self deprecation.

Mr. Scott clearly defined, during the interview, his belief that “tough love” is what has made his success in life possible, coming from a single parent family, but strong in the ideology of personal responsibility and integrity.
It is so far clear that the choices of the people of Florida and South Carolina in these two men to represent them in Congress are definitely winners.

The Hill reports that Lt.Col. West has also decided that he will participate in the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington.
The CBC is a Democrat-dominated caucus and it has been such for ever. West stated in a radio interview that:

"I plan on joining, I'm not gonna ask for permission or whatever, I'm gonna find out when they meet and I will be a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and I think I meet all of the criteria and it's so important that we break down this 'monolithic voice' that continues to talk about victimization and dependency in the black community,"

I wish I could be a fly on the wall when Lt.Col. West shows up at that meeting!

Rep. Tim Scott has not declared his intensions on the subject as of yet.

On the day following the elections, establishment RINOs in Washington stated that they were looking forward to welcome the newly elected Republicans to basically show them how thing get done in that city. The patronizing move was welcomed by an onslaught of indignation on the part of Conservatives, radio talk show hosts and Americans in general, as the mandate given to people like West and Scott was to reject at priori exactly the business as usual mentality pervading Republicans already in power.
All indications are, by listening to folks like West and Scott, that the RINOs will have a very much needed rude awakening.

At least, that is the hope millions of Americans hold.

Just my thoughts!
