Night Of The Mixed Feelings

By Semperpapa

It is one of those times when I know I should be satisfied, when I know you cannot win them all, when I should be thankful for the victory achieved.
But tonight is the night of the mixed feelings, the night when I cannot rejoice as much as I had hoped.

The mid-term elections have taken place. The American people have spoken and the message has been sent to the uber-corrupt politicians in Washington. Starting next January, many of those who have been pillaging the people will be going home, leaving the grim task to try and salvage our Nation to those who today won the confidence of the people.

It is definitely exhilarating to know that the liberal Democrats lost control of the House. It is somewhat disappointing that the gains in the Senate were not enough to win the majority there from them, although that possibility was sort of remote.

There are some of the races that I was happy to see the direction they took, like Marco Rubio's and Allen West's victories and the resounding defeat of Alan Greyson. The victory of Kirk and Toomey and Kasich.
But many others races were resounding disappointments: it would have been so uplifting for the country to see Barney Frank packing his men's purse; the cadaverous Harry Reid being sent into retirement; and many others.

What really made the night a complete bust was the way things turned out in my home state of California. Not only we are stuck with the corrupted and useless Barbara Boxer as a senator, but we have placed a ultra-liberal idiot back in the governor's seat in the form of Gerry Brown.

It is really a very sad night for this once glorious state, one whose economy rivaled economies of the majority of entire nations not too long ago.
But the people of California, betrayed by bleeding heart hypocritical celebrities, corrupted union thugs and progressive academia elites, have decided that it is more important for illegal aliens to go to college for free than to bring the state back to its prosperous years.
I will be interested to see the reaction of the people when their property taxes will triple so that Moonbeam Brown can pay for his precious illegal immigrants' education.
I will be interested to see when the already depressed housing market and foreclosure rate goes even higher as many people will not be able to afford their homes, especially after the unemployment rate skyrockets with the exodus of small businesses from California.

Already this state is the least friendly state for business in the country, and that before Brown was Governor, thanks to taxation and regulations, which will get even worst with this idiot as Governor and the hypocrite Boxer pushing the fraud of global warming.

Only the future will be able to tell what the consequences of the misguided people of California will usher upon themselves. But if the past is any indication, we are in for an even rougher ride.

Just my thoughts!

  2. Actually, that prop was defeated. And yes Gerry Brown, the most likely major user of illicit drugs in the political arena.
And we in California thought we were already in hell. Real hell is just beginning.

Thanks for the post and I will check your blog out...
